Hell yes! FFT is one of those games I just have to play every 3-4 years. Played the crap out of the PS1 version, and the War of the Lions version on PSP. My PSP hasn't worked for years so I now have it loaded on my Android tablet.

Just finished the Iki island expansion for Ghost of Tsushima. Thought the price tag was a bit high for a DLC at first, but it was outstanding. So much more new content than I expected out of a DLC too.

Now to finally get around to the AC Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids DLC..

Has anyone played Deathloop? I was really looking forward to it, but I just can’t get into a rhythm with it. I thought for sure it would hook me, but I just never feel compelled to play it.

I think it might be the amount of information and details they throw at you. The game feels very cluttered to me and almost like a chore every time I sit down to make some progress.

It's honestly funny how much more excited I am for remasters lately than remakes... like I wouldn't really want a FFT remake but a remaster? Sure, absolutely.

On a related note whenever I hear about a new game being released my first thought is whether it'll work well on the Steam Deck once that comes out... apparently my initial skepticism has evaporated.

I think it's okay.

Agree the plot is a little plodding for sure, and I'm not a huge fan of the art style of the NPCs.

The actual gameplay is pretty fun but feels held back by the pacing of the story at times.

I had the same feeling for the first week I started playing this game. It's a really good game worthy of the praise but it's also one of the most difficult to get into because there's a massive initial learning curve and since the game gives you a lot of freedom you can spend hours accomplishing nothing because until you gain the power to harness Residium from the Wenjie character, you are just spinning your wheels. IMO the game should have at least prompted new players to do this mission first because without it loops are wasted.

Also I would advise to ignore the Visionary leads (people you need to assassinate) for a while and focus on the Arsenal leads where you build up your weapons and abilities. Once you gain some solid weapons and Slab powers the gameplay experience totally changes. Just make sure at the end of each loop that you infuse as much gear as you can so those items are available at the beginning of a new loop. Just recycle any items you don't want to bring and use that to infuse the good stuff that you want to keep. This also isn't explained as well as it should have been. A tip is to use the R1 (I think) trigger to view all uninfused items at the end of the loop and pick and choose what you want to keep and what you want to recycle. As you get more powerful and unlock new leads, the game becomes much more linear and the path to the end more clear.

Thank you! That breaks it down a bit for me. I’ll take your advice and give it another shot.

Also read every single letter and listen to every single recording you come across as those are key clues that will pop up in the next loop as new leads. As you visit areas at different times of day you will realize that different opportunities are available to you and the clues will lead you. For example you will fight a visionary at night and find a clue that tells you to visit the area in the afternoon and alter the course of the day making it easier to face that particular visionary at night on another loop.

I had the completely opposite impression from the gameplay trailer of Elden Ring. I thought it was too bright and colorful and it looked like a Korean MMORPG with stupid magic effects and everything everywhere.

It looks like there are multiple areas and some are super colorful oversaturated She-Ra lands and some are more in the traditional vein of a Soulsbourne.

It's just a Souls game with the contrast turned up. Nothing really wrong with that as gameplay always takes precedence with the Souls games.

Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-Shot Adventure is free on Epic currently.

It's just a standalone version of the Borderlands 2.0 DLC but if you haven't played that DLC then it's worth getting.

If you can, try Forza Horizon 5 out. Great fun, looks stunning and co-op play is a blast.

Haven't been able to play yet sadly. Can't even launch the main menu it just gives me an error saying to reconnect the controller even though it's connected just fine. Tried to open a support ticket and they just closed it right away linking me to the useless faq. So I tried re-installing and now I get a profile error as well.

Seems to be common issues online so I imagine a patch will come out soon at least

That sucks, works flawlessly on consoles. I assume you are playing on PC via Game Pass or Steam?

Bit of a bummer…

Quote:
The launch of Steam Deck will be delayed by two months. We're sorry about this—we did our best to work around the global supply chain issues, but due to material shortages, components aren’t reaching our manufacturing facilities in time for us to meet our initial launch dates.
Based on our updated build estimates, Steam Deck will start shipping February 2022. This will be the new start date of the reservation queue—you will keep your place in line but dates will shift back accordingly. Reservation date estimates will be updated shortly after this announcement.
Again, we're sorry we won’t be able to make our original ship date. We'll continue working to improve reservation dates based on the new timeline, and will keep you updated as we go.

Yeah on Gamepass. Lots of console players having wheel issues online as well, apparently the game hates Logitech and fanatec.

Supposedly it works great via steam since steam has better wheel support, and native PS4 and PS5 controller support. But the Xbox app doesn't

Ahhh wheel support, gotcha... I play on controller so I haven't had to deal with that. But I have definitely thought about picking one up for this gen of consoles.

Xbox definitely needs to fix the Game pass launcher or whatever it is called. I have had issues with it in the past as well.

Yeah it really is bad. This is my third time trying it out, I got it again for AOEIV and Forza. Both previous times I tried it it would have numerous installation errors. Haven't had that yet this time but all these problems have sure been irritating.

I love FH5 but it has some issues. The servers have been pretty bad from the start so disconnections are fairly regular. The worst part it they cause you to stop in your tracks, ruining and skills or speed run you were on. Unlocking a new part of the festival interrupts whatever you’re doing as well.

The draw in is pretty bad unless you’re running on extreme settings. There’s some issues with AA as well.

I’m sure all these issues will get fixed and right now my only problem is finding time to play.
