Bosh S&T is done. Toronto gets their own first-rounder back, Miami's 2011 first-rounder, and a $15 million TPE. That's actually decent... really didn't expect an extra first-rounder (even if it's probably a late, late first rounder).

As a UFA he definitely had the right to do whatever he wanted. My issue was with the way he went about everything though (ie, the press conference). Like him or not, this is one of those guys that actually transcends the sport. This guy WAS Cleveland. He essentially put them through the ringer.
It was his choice to make and I don't think he made the right one personally. Buddy has been comparing himself to MJ for the longest time and constantly talks about legacy.... that went out the window last night. Any titles that he eventually wins aren't going to compare to what MJ did. They won't compare to what Kobe has managed to do. Those guys would have taken on Wade and Bosh head on (and beaten them).... LBJ didn't.
His choice though... hopefully he doesn't regret it down the line.

I have no problems with guys taking less to play together to win a championship. I hate Kobe precisely because his desire to be the guy cost his team a phenomenal (at the time) player in Shaq. LeBron and Bosh might be s for how they left Cleveland/Toronto, but I don't blame them... every player who cares about winning should take a discount. Crosby did, Iggy did (poor Iggy!) Whther you put the rest of the pieces in place later or at the same time with the resulting cap space is really irrelevant.

Whoever came up with that would make a killing selling it outside the stadium the first time James comes back to Cleveland. Is there any confirmation it happened though?

My understanding is that the Cavs got a call from Lebron's business partner right before the announcement. The call did not come from Lebron himself and the Cavs took issue with that.

Just want to make it clear that he did not take less money, there was absolutely zero financial sacrifice. Florida's tax structure means he earns more than he could have in Cleveland.

Interesting trade developing between Phx and TO...
Quote:
The Toronto Raptors are set to send forward Hedo Turkoglu to the Phoenix Suns in exchange for guard Leandro Barbosa, according to the Arizona Republic. The Suns would also receive Josh Childress, who would be acquired in a sign-and-trade deal with the Atlanta Hawks, the Republic reports.

I'm not really fond of letting Barbosa go though. He's been one of my faves for a few years now.

As a Raptors fan, YES PLEASE! We'd still need to move another guard, but it's a good start and it saves some money. As a Suns fan, I'm less enthused by Turk, but Childress is a great pickup.

Since I don't really follow the Raptors, I've just been reading up on some of the things you guys have been saying about Turk this past season...
Yikes.

My biggest concern with him is that he really wants to be a ball-handler. I really can't imagine how he and Nash are going to function on the floor at the same time. Especially if Phoenix is wanting to use him as a PF, as I've read here and there. He's not very effective in post-up situations.
That said, he's proven himself a clutch playoff performer, his defense is slightly above average (at least for Toronto, and probably for Phoenix), and when he actually competes hard, he's the sort of guy who can have a massive impact on the game and can fill up a stat sheet in a hurry. I wouldn't put too much stock in Raptors fan opinions, as we just hated the guy for reasons that extend beyond basketball.

And now the rumour is that the Raptors will also get Dwayne Jones from the Suns and immediately move him and our TPE from the Bosh deal to Charlotte for Boris Diaw.
So if these moves go through, the Raptors roster would be
Bargnani/Alibi/Dorsey
Johnson/Davis/Evans
Diaw/Kleiza/Weems
DeRozan/Barbosa/Bellinelli
Calderon/Jack/Banks
An improvement over where we were at last week, but way too many middling players, More moves to be made though. I sort of think the Diaw move would mean that they think Denver is going to match the Kleiza offer sheet.

I love this move for the Raps. Getting anything for Hedo is a plus, he has been nothing but a disaster from the start. Barbosa only has 2 years left on his deal and I'm pretty sure can't/won't be as bad of a locker-room guy then Hedo was. Good riddance!!

Diaw can also defend opposing centers, which would be good for Bargniani.
Interesting.

Would love to see this trade happen, Barbosa at the very worst makes this team exciting to watch. Really hoping this trade goes down

Yeah, there are a lot of options. When they want to go big, they could put out a lineup of Bargs, Johnson, Diaw, Kleisa, DeRozan, with Diaw acting as a point-forward (how Larry Brown used him), and when they want to go small, put out Calderon, Barbosa, DeRozan, Diaw, and Johnson, with Diaw taking care of interior defense. I can really see him being the guy they thought they were getting when they traded for Turk.

Rumour is Calderon + TPE to CHA for Diaw + Chandler.
http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=16779
Chandler - C
Bargnani - PF
Diaw - SF
Barbosa - SG
Jack - PG
Not great, but that lineup would compete in the East. LOTS of athleticism
