Just finished watching the game. I thought Dallas clogged things up in the first two period, but Flames had some good chances.

After Dallas scored, the Flames turned it on and the secondary scoring came through. Backlund, Mangi, Coleman were excellent. The top line wasn't given any room which is why I think Sutter put Coleman on that line, then Toffoli.

Extra kudos to Lewis and Jankrok -- they've been quietly very good. Like someone else said, uncharacteristically poor game from Tanev -- he made like 6-7 errors in his own zone. I don't think he made that many the entire season.

Onto the next -- FINISH THEM in game 6!!!!!

Put the highlights on from YouTube this morning.

While eating his breakfast my son spilled his milk. Demanded I pause the TV so he could get a towel to clean it up. Couldn't miss a second of the game.

God I wish the games didn't start at 10:45-11:00pm

Poor kid loves the Flames (as his father brainwashed him to do) but can't stay up to watch on a school night.

Hell I try to go to bed after the first, but even with melatonin I only doze until he game is over.

My fitbit sleep score was 67 last night.

I'm ok with that, so long as the Flames keep winning

There's lots of reasons I pay through the nose to live in Vancouver but what people never talk about how it's the most glorious time zone for sports. Putting it away before 930 was the icing on the cake.

Three goals so big that I pulled something celebrating each one.

I don’t know why that Lewis ENG has me so happy. Just the display of effort and will to win. Funny - pretty sure he yelled “Let’s Go” to Johnny in the celi

That third period was inspired. Flames made the right adjustments and finally started to penetrate the middle of the ice in the offensive zone, which led to their goals. They played with a lot more urgency and then simplified once they got the lead, turning the tables on the Stars and trapping the #### out of them. It was a great and much needed adjustment. The win was fun.

Something that is not fun is the HF-ification of this place. The certain high school in-group garbage that makes HF the cesspool it is has found its way to CP. It is amazing that people do not see themselves becoming everything they proclaim to hate and attempt to ridicule. The evolution has been slow, but extremely painful to watch. It started with the juvenile Around the League report, but was accepted because it mined Oiler fans' salt. But that evolved into something silly and painful to see, making believe our fans were any better or different than others (we're not). The epitome of that evolution is the Wall of Shame - the taking of out of context in-the-moment comments and attempting to ridicule people for their fandom - simply because it does not comply with a certain brand of blind homerism demanded by the self-proclaimed "cool kids". Even when a lot of the comments on that "wall" are accurate for what was happening in the game at the time. What is next? Thread bans because you have the audacity to challenge the narrative established by the thread thought police, just like they do on HF Oil? This place used to be about diversity of opinion and thought. Now its devolved into a bunch of high school mean girls who think they are so fetch, when they are actually the lamest thing around. Come on CP, we're better than that. When we start eating our own - like they do at that other site - we have become what we hate most.

I love the wall of shame for the same reason you hate the ATL. Why shouldn't we mine our own salt if we're going to point fingers at every other fan base?

Although I would definitely prefer the WoS be kept to complete negative nancy's and not just people commenting on a bad play

Some of the wall was comments on the game but come on, most of it is just a mountain of over the top negativity in a one goal game (after a big win). You’d have thought the Flames were about to be swept.

Blind homerism? Feel free to call attention to any such posts in the next loss.

I've had a cold all week so as I sat down this morning in Singapore to watch the game, I COVID tested myself, again, during the anthems.

Positive.

That put me in a right bad mood and out of spite I cancelled my work calls. Thank God I did because I didn't miss a minute of the game and my mood vastly improved (even though my partner made me wear a mask at home).

Thank you Flames for turning my day around!

Good luck. Hopefully your quarantine doesn’t put you out of anything good (like a trip). My wife got it right before a Hawaii trip. But, the good news is - as long as it doesn’t hit too hard you can play it up some at home. Voice of experience here.

Question not necessarily related to the game, but since Sportsnet hasn't been showing the setup to the players entering the ice (Calgary's atmosphere doesn't matter compared to Toronto or Edmonton's), was wondering if they're still doing Navras pre-entry?

For those of you that don't like the "Wall of Shame" tradition that is starting, I look at it this way; It actually may have the result of making the GDT more positive, and have less of the overly, and outlandishly negative posts because people won't want to be called out. Plus, it is very entertaining and the way it has been done with the funny gifs, and awards, it is clearly lighthearted and not meant to actually shame anyone.

Man, you just constantly spew negativity.

It's just a game. Why you Heff to be mad? .
