Are they just going to play with a 2.5mln black hole this year or go get another player so they can be above the cap and get relief for Kylington's salary?
Seems like it's being managed about as well as Monahan not going on LTIR before the trade deadline last year.

Shot from corner results in a rebound directly to the slot. I mean, I guess good on him for not allowing the shot from no angle to go in. 3 goals on an xgf of 2.44 would indicate he is playing below expected.

…as a goalie one of your jobs is to not kick a rebound out 15 feet into the slot off a shot from the goal line.
Yeah, the team has been horrible tonight - goalie included.

Yes, an absolutely nothing play if the Flames are playing semi-average defense. Thankfully you can use him to let the other 5 on the ice off the hook. Lucky them.

I wouldn't say Markstrom is playing great but the game certainly isn't on him so far
Flames actually controlled that period...yet outscored 2-0

He didn't really kick that out though. It looked like it bounced off of his stick. Depending on what angle you shoot at, the rebound isn't always going to go straight in front of you.

Markstrom took a nothing play where the Flames had the puck carrier in the corner and kicked an easy save into the slot and then let the puck leak through him.
You can't hold the opposing team to zero shots in a game.

Whether it was kicked into the slot or not, no guy should be able to skate from his bench straight up the pipe untouched to the front of the net.
