I dunno about pinch hitting for Tapia there. He is 2-2 tonight and a good contact hitter. I’d rather play for the hit and run or just have the extra speed to stay out of a double play.

Collins makes up for it though! Big insurance run.

Biggio seems utterly lost. He may never have been a great hitter but at least he used to have good at bats.

Tapia is a real ground ball hitter and usually with good exit velocity so that combo can be dangerous for the double play…even with his speed.

Confidence looks completely shot. All the other young guys have careers taking off and he's kind of stuck in mud. I think it's affected him a lot.

Espinal at second is pure win. He’s been just outstanding.

Yeah. I think he may have been unfairly lumped in with Bichette and Guerrero because of the fact that they were all kids of great players. It might have pushed his development schedule off a bit.

So many base runners stranded by the Jays so far. 3 run lead is nice but it really should be a 6 or 7-1 game right now

Have some fun, girlysports!! Your pick, though. I'm good with whatever.
You are betting more for winning 60 than 45? Shouldnt I be laying odds or something?

Anyone else in on this? I can't bet everyone $100, I'd go broke haha.

If the game ends without the Jays batting again, that’s 3 straight ending with Vlad in the on deck circle.

I think the best hitters should be hitting as high as possible, might make sense to flip Vladdy and Bo around in the 2-3 slots.

Makes extra sense with Teoscar out, Vladdy doesn’t have the same protection behind him.

Great great effort from Collins tonight at the plate and behind it. We needed that

It was weird, I meant that we bet higher on the Jays winning 60 games before losing 45 (me obviously winning if they win 60 before losing 45 and you winning if they lose 45 before winning 60).

And yeah, we could lay odds, I just thought we'd go simpler and lay out exact wins vs losses, two different scenarios, one with a higher payout.

Protection has been shown to not actually be a thing and batting order difference is fairly minimal (optimal vs not is like 10 runs over a full year) Whats more important is player preference. If Bo wants to hit second and Vlad wants to hit third you leave them there.

Interesting, I agree protection is less than what it’s made out to be. But I think it only makes sense to get your studs the most AB as possible as over the course of the year it does make a difference.

Look at last season, a few extra Vlad AB’s may have lead to 1 more win and we make the playoffs.

Hard to believe a team with a second rate manager and a complete lack of fundamentals took a close game like that.
