Not a huge fan of the name, but it's not my team so I don't care. Sockeyes would have been cool.
Despite the logo and jersey being really sharp, I'm mostly surprised they didn't go with a green theme since all pro sports in Seattle are green and they are literally known as the Emerald City. Huge miss IMO.

I'm legitimately wondering if they'll go with Cthulu as a mascot. Or Zoidberg, maybe.
Either way, a squid-head would be a great mascot concept, so long as you could keep it from terrifying children.

I think they've done a great job. I have a buddy who lives in Seattle who is from New Orleans, no hockey backgroud of any kind but he's super excited by their packaging to date- they are on the right track

The Logo being a sea horse type creature, made of tentacles, and and S all at once is fantastic.
My only change would have been a neon green eye and pin stripe instead of the red to keep in theme with the rest of Seattle teams.

The darker teal stripe on the Kraken jersey is almost the same colour as that Mariners jersey to my eye. Also, the Kraken don't have any alt jerseys yet, where they could really lean into the greener colours like teal and turquoise if they wanted to.
Also, they have to tread carefully, so they don't look like the Canucks or Sharks

I would be pretty surprised if the Kraken don't opt for green as the colour of their alternate jersey when the time comes.

Green is also a colour of their chief rival.
If they went with their blue-grey scheme and then did green too they would be way too similar to vancouver. The red gives a good differentiation point and changes the overall pallet.

Team name, logo, and colors are sharp, interesting, and a hot conversation piece. Couldn't ask for a better reveal.
What I really like is the colors. The dark theme invokes an ominous, deep sea feel where opponents come into "uncharted waters" and can expect the unexpected. Love it.
