Coming to Blairmore CNP:

Dairy Queen, Dominoes, Bar Burrito, and larger IGA.

Rumors that McDonalds will go into the fly shop space in Bellevue. Vic Bergman just retired and closed the shop yesterday.

Its simple. Paul Verhoeven get a contract for a new RoboCop movie and some incentives to film it here and stages a stunt where he launches the tower into orbit because that man is a certifiable maniac.

Krispy Kreme floundered last time it was in Calgary. Once the novelty wore off people realized it was nothing special. Not sure why they’d expect it to be different this time around.

People’s stupid devotion to Tim Hortons makes it difficult for anything new to take hold. I think Calgary could use a few more Krispy Kremes.

Noticed Firehouse Subs opened in Northland Village while I was in the area. It was pretty good, had a basic meatball sub.

Doubt I'll go back anytime soon cause I'm on a short sodium leash. But I'd recommend trying it. It was about $25 for two medium (six inch) subs.

Four or five other people were in at the same time as us. I would have been out of there if there was a line.

I found out yesterday that they have a $7 medium sub offer the day after a Canadian teams wins a playoff game (obviously just the Oilers left now.) I might have to try that out if they can win again.

And if you believe it or not they’ve re-ripped up the right two lanes of 9th by the new power station (or whatever it is). Unbelievable.

Calgary is also saturated with burger, taco, pizza, and doughnut options.

Anyway, I see it same way. Like I no longer would choose shake shack over lil empire or Bastion burger. Calgary has a wealth of good local chefs, we don’t need the soulless chains to come bless us like they do up North.

I'll agree on burger and pizza options but we definitely aren't saturated on good doughnut and taco (street taco) options.

You should try the taco place by my office! Not street taco, but they have this turkey taco and they brine the turkey...it is so good.

So...use the chicken as a bun and the donut as a filling? Should we alert AHS now or...wait until it actually happens?
