There's conserving your energy and just trying not to get injured, and there's sitting back and watching a tweener squad run your show.

I think you just want more composure from guys that have NHL experience. That's the disappointing part.

Obviously can't expect to get their best, but this is miles from it.

There's not a lot to take away from this game. Certainly not enough to invalidate what we've seen from Backlund, Dube, Phillips, Ruzicka, Valimaki, etc in recent seasons.

That said... Gudbranson looks just as bad as he has been for years. That signing was indefensible from day one.

Yeah, and that type of approach to pre-season is exactly why we just heard Tkachuk talk about how this team has never had a good start to a season while he’s been here.

They can’t excuse this type of performance, especially not when you’re supposed to be part of the leadership group.

I haven't watched the preseason closely since they played in China I think.

No. It matters the same for both. Anyone in Edmonton planning a parade after this game is just as foolish as anyone in Calgary on suicide watch.

so it's not relevant either way like I said

Top 2 lines aren't playing...Dube and Backlund might be on a line but they aren't exactly busting their balls like guys trying to make a team

AGAIN Tampa 2-5 last preseason for the chicken littles out there
