Kinvall on the third pairing with pp duties would do it.

the 0 goals, 8 points Edler? I wouldn't like him on the team if he paid us to play.

It might just be that Edler is the defenceman the Flames can get. I don't really mind Edler, as I think he might come cheap, and I think he's a pretty solid defenceman, as I posted above.

That list looks about right. My order of preference:
McCabe
Murray
Edler
Smith

Forbert is UFA too isn't he? Played for Darryl before and he's already shown he has no problem playing in Canada. He'd be another option.

I am 100% certain that if I go to last year's thread, you said the identical thing about Tanev.

False.
He was simply taken off the PP.
He was still very solid at 5v5 and actually had a great bounceback season following a rough 2019-20 campaign

Offense was never a part of Tanev's game but even he outscored Edler last season. I don't think a three year contract is a good idea at all.

If he still put the points up he’d be looking at a much bigger contract. Still very good at defending.

No, the reason we moved on from tanev because there were questions about his ability to stay healthy if we signed him to a long term deal.
Most Canuck fans were upset because he was a perfect fit with Quinn.
Schmidt on paper was suppose to be better than tanev, but it didn't work out.
Edler on the other hand is way past his expiration date. Think about it this way, the Canucks desperately want to upgrade the defence and were letting a Canuck lifer sitting on 99 goals walk.
He's a lot slower, his shot is gone, injuries, those should be red flags for any team looking to sign him.

3 years, $6.3M? That's definitely an insult to the captain.
Come to Calgary Gabe, join your Swedish buddies.

It must be 8 years. But if Landeskog signs 6.3M it will cheaper than Johnny.
