He seemed to play the Kawasaki role - keeping the players loose when they got too tense. I wonder who will do it now

So Carerra, Barney and Goins combined for 1,146 plate appearances last season, and a combined -1.3 WAR.

All gone, and hopefully that is where we see lots of improvement from this years team.

Stroman says he’s not worried at all about his shoulder, sees it as an opportunity to make his arm even stronger. Expects to be ready for start of season, though maybe not Opening Day. #Bluejays #Jays

Stroman said he first felt the shoulder issue in January, tried to work through it. Has nothing to do with him experimenting with arm angles. #Bluejays #Jays

Yeah says iits not because wasnt expirmenting with arm angles but if you're throwing some side arms as part of your training at full speed in the offseaon, not sure I buy that.
That and his tinge of bitterness over his arbitration loss, loss of former teammates and its something to keep an eye on his attitude of being a Jay.

Throwing sidearm is less likely to injure your shoulder as underhand is the natural way to throw - if anything lowering your arm angle reduces wear and tear and would reduce potential injury...

Default 2017-2018 Blue Jays Off-Season Thread

@Wilnerness590: #Bluejays keep Zeke! Carrera cleared waivers and has been outrighted. He will be back in #Jays camp tomorrow.

@thehazelmae: OF Ezequiel Carrera has been out-righted to #Buffalo and will return to Major League camp as a non-roster invitee per #BlueJays

What a surprise! No one else wanted him!
Zeke seems like a good guy and all but he just looks lost out there at times.

What's going to happen to all these unsigned MLB free agents? There's a lot of decent players in there.

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018-...-agent-tracker

Carlos Gonzalez, Jake Arrieta, Jonathan Lucroy...

I guess they'd better start taking discounts?

I'd love for the Jays to snag Holland as a set up man and/or back up closer. The guy has a ton of saves and proved last year he still has it after missing all of 2016 with an injury.

Of course not at what he's looking for. It's rumored he turned down a 3 year $52 million deal ($17.3 million per) from the Rockies. If that's even close to being true what in the actual #### was he thinking?

If these free agents are turning down deals like that then let them rot. Serves them right.

Nice throw by Danny Jansen to nail a steal attempt of second

@BlueJays: .@D_Jansen31 doesn't have an arm, he has a cannon. https://twitter.com/BlueJays/status/...573697/video/1

That was a great throw - forget the accuracy, but the speed was apparent. I wonder if they have speed stats on that throw?

Apparently Tulo is going to start the season on the 60 day DL and May not be playing until the All-Star break. I knew that contract was eventually going to be bad, but man it’s probably one of the worst in baseball already. Would love to be able to spend that cash somewhere else. That’s what they were saying on the fan 960 today anyways...

Pinder is down at training camp in Dunedin, so I’m willing to bet that came from something he heard down there.

Maybe he will retire like Prince Fielder and insurance will pay for the rest of it!

@BlueJays
We've signed RHP Tyler Clippard to a Minor League deal with an invite to Major League #SpringTraining.

Clippard owns a 3.11 ERA over 11 MLB seasons.

One of the relievers I was hoping they would take a stab at.
