I remember earlier in the season when I was excited he returned. I liked him as the plucky guy on CBC between periods, just doing score updates, they didn't even let him in the room, he was on a monitor off in the corner.
He's totally brutal now. I'm embarrassed of my previous excitement.

Flames leading 1-0 and Sportsnet just gives smooches to the ducks for five minutes and talks about why Calgary's goal shouldnt have counted

Someone should throw Monahan's jersey into the shower to get rid some of the blood.

The real issue with the officiating is that there is no standard. You get to learn the standard at the beginning of each game, and then sometimes even that changes depending on the game management factors (i.e. playoffs, star player, tie game in 3rd, etc.). I don't know how the players or the coach are ever supposed to know how close to the edge to play.

Simmer down fellas. It's a time filler piece by PJ. He's not wrong, but we can all agree that would never get noticed by the refs until the play is over and they'd never reverse a call.

Well, zero consistency in reffing from game to game. That Colborne penalty is exactly what Perry was doing last game. Oh, and Perry's shot to Engelland's face was exactly the same as Colborne's penalty last game. Good to see that Perry is immune from taking a penalty this entire series. Good job a-holes.

It was a definite hook, but the problem is Anaheim getting away with those kind of hooks all series long.

It's going to be a long 12 years with Sportsnet at the helm. A second rate organization that was allowed to play with a blank cheque from Papa Rogers. Their panel and overall production of the playoffs has been underwhelming to say the least.

Sheesh, the amount of whining on this board right now is starting to be really annoying.

Intermission analysis: Ducks, Ducks, Ducks, Ducks, Ducks....oh, and Monahan had blood on his jersey when the Flames scored, so they got away with one...Ducks, Ducks, Ducks, Ducks, Ducks.

That might get Gaudreau a warmer seat on the bench. Can't make plays like that in an elimination game. Have to be squeaky clean.

Oh, I'm not disputing its penaltyness. It's just the inconsistency between that type of call and stuff that's been gotten away with throughout the series.
I think a tighter-called game actually favours Calgary. I just don't expect those calls to be made as this game goes on and Anaheim (if they're still behind) starts to press.

I think its standard. 1st period different then 3rd period. Depends on who has the lead and depends if a 4 minute penalty is called then the other team will surely get 1 or 2 calls back.
I can almost predict who gets the next penalty.

Stock isn't incorrect, they're just babbling on about an interpretation of the rule book no ref would ever enforce.
When was the last time you EVER saw a ref blow a play dead because a player that was bleeding jumped back on the ice?
