So rather than fight your own battle through an established method that would determine truth, you want to get other people to bully them? We have no way of knowing what you say is even true. It probably is, but we don't know that for sure.

Well at least you feel the negative aspect of it somewhat, if not enough to let those feelings affect your actions and consider how those actions affect others.

We're a Flames forum first, and a community second.. a personal army for a private business owner is far down the list of things.

And since we're not really interested in getting in the middle of a legal battle or being sued by someone, this thread will likely be deleted.
First of all, I am not a private business owner, I am a guy trying to keep stuff afloat like many others out there. Social media gives the public the ability to be heard, and the chance to do something about wrongs done to them. The next time you get screwed over by a company, a politician, or ANYBODY you will want to do something about it too. It is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when it will happen to you. Message me when it does and I would gladly help you out.

Thanx for the tip, great site for anybody who has been taken for a ride.

Call CFCN. Call the Calgary Sun. Talk to the real media to get your story out in a way people will believe. If you want social media to help you, it would help if the people you wanted to help you were a community you were really part of in the first place and not a stranger just spamming a variety of forums for google hits. Encouraging a forum that you were not a long time member of to do something wrong just because you feel wronged is poor judgement. What will clicking on their ads accomplish? It won't make them pull the security on your property, just pull their google ads for a time. Posting stuff on public forums inciting hostile behavior will only get you into more trouble as it leaves a trail of evidence for their lawyers that are you trying to do them malicious harm. There are proper channels for this and they can be liable for all your costs in court.

If you still want to do this, then maybe you belong in 4chan and should get some bored emo teenagers to do a DDoS attack on them.

You own rental properties, that is a business.

That's true, but this is not a social media site, this is a private Flames fan site. What you are doing isn't like putting up a sign on your lawn to tell everyone about something, it's like putting up a sign on someone else's lawn without asking them.

Except that in this case the sign could get the owner of that someone else's lawn sued. That's not very considerate.

You will gladly help out, but in this case you are the one causing us to potentially get screwed over.. by what you posted we can get sued by a security company. Do I have your word that you'll supply the money to pay for a legal defense if that's the case?

I have been screwed over, a number of times. I also own rental properties, I've had one tenant steal a fridge and move out of province. I've had problems with investments gone bad, and I have used this very site to do what you are doing to raise awareness and spread the word to others involved.

However I also give to this site with a not insignificant portion of my time, and I'm part of a community, so I've earned the good will.

If you'd asked permission then it would have been better, though still it's a legal problem.

Damn I really want to know what was said in the OP. I own rental properties near where Fotze linked and want to know is there a security scam going around the area?

Basically a tenant signed up for some kind of security system and the company is trying to say he's responsible even though he didn't sign up for it.

Okay then he has a point, but signing up to a hockey site to bitch and complain is pretty lame.

Wow, if I rented a home in that rough an area I'd get an alarm too... Are you sure your tenants weren't murdered?!

pretty interesting. Our company doesn't allow a tenant to hook up security without permission from the landlord. Thus if the tenant bails the landlord becomes responsible. I think it's written in the contract.

Would you need a signature from the landlord? A thumbprint in ink? IMO corporations will do anything for $. There is something needed for such requests that this company has asked for. If they did not do their due-diligence they are pucked! This is an apperent attampt to force one to contract if his story is true. He only needs to ask for the contract they feel he he is debited too and if it has his true signature or thumb print he is in contract. It's a simple problem that easily can be resolved.

He is 100 percent right in the fact that he used ****** companies name and his info. That information is not needed in the debate. His issue however could be still herd if one would choose to just remove the unnecessary information. Getting permission makes sense but how many times has one asked for CP help previously? IMO that is what the off topic board is, greatly helpful, and insightful as well as it is known for our "advice". Remember the hit and run thread as an example? I can search for those help threads (we remember them), but IMO the off topic threads are just as important as the Flames thread. His only transgression was using names. Those could have been remove instead of his entire message.
