River of Light This Saturday

Thoughts on how long it will take them to make it to the Prince’s Island area? They should move more quickly that a raft, but I can’t recall even by raft how long it takes from Edworthy to PI.

I went, it seemed like the orbs were made out of latex. One guy grabbed it only moments after it popped and left him with a disappointed and slightly wet.

It was fun with all the people cheering and having a good time.

The river is a somewhat underappreciated gem in Calgary that should be celebrated more. It would be great for River of Light to expand into an annual event with perhaps even more elaborate floating light displays. Perhaps a way to kick off the Bow River Flow festival each year? I feel like it could become something really big and more a part of Calgary's identity.

I thought they could be a little brighter but it was nice to do something different

I did think it was rude for people to start grabbing the orbs at the beginning before other people had a chance to see them.
