Events I was at:

- 1989 watching Lanny McDonald score his 500th goal vs. NY Islanders
- 1998 Grey Cup. Mark McLoughlin's last-second field goal.
- 1998 watching the St. Albert Saints come back from a 3-0 series deficit to defeat Lloydminster in Game 7 double OT
- 2004 Flames beat Lightning in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final
- 2005 Manitoba Moose beat Rochester in Game 5 in front of 15,000+ to advance to conference final
- 2006 Fernando Pisani scores in OT to force Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final (it was pretty neat to see the Cup raised live after Game 7)
- 2007 Patrik Stefan missed empty netter, Oilers tie the game with 0.3 seconds left
- 2010 Canada beats Russia at the Olympics (then beats Slovakia)

For events I was not at, there are quite a few. Jays World Series in 92 and 93, particularly Joe Carter's homerun in 93. Flames Cup win in 89, Fleury's OT goal in 91 Game 6, Stamps in 92, 2001, 2008, Canada's Gold Medal winners 2002 & 2010, Italy's World Cup win in 2006, beating Vancouver in Game 7 OT in 2004 (then Detroit, then San Jose), Game 5 vs. TB in 2004, etc.

For me, nothing will ever surpass Paul Hendersons series clinching goal against the evil Soviets in 72.

Its hard to explain to those who weren't around for it, what it all meant. The cold war was at its height with what was happening in Vietnam, the brutal recession at the time, the WHA was gearing up and it was confusing as to what that meant for NHL fans, and at that point not knowing much of anything about Russian hockey as they were ever really ever seen at the Olys and WC's.

An amazing time to be a kid and watching your country answer the bell so to speak.

Seeing the varsity basketball team win provincials when I was in high school. I was on the jr varsity team at the time. They had to beat a very good team in zones to advance to provincials. Thing was the team they beat to advance was also hosting provincials. So they played again in the provincial final. Practically my whole home town showed up to watch the final game.

First thing I thought of and I hate baseball. Just sticks in my mind.

Also, the Elway spin diving en route to the Broncos SB win.

Lots of great ones already posted, but..

- 1995 Game 5 ALDS Yankees @ Mariners (the Double).
- the entire 2007 WHL Championship series, probably the best I've seen despite both teams having already qualified for the Memorial Cup.
- 2002 Memorial Cup final, so proud to see my hometown Ice win, especially after the disappointment two years earlier. Plus my high-school grad was that afternoon after the game.

For me, it's the live events I've been to... mainly at the 'Dome.

- Wayne Gretzky's last game in Calgary.
- Calgary Hitmen's First WHL Championship.
- Game 6 vs. DET, 03/04.

Those are moments I wont soon forget.
