I worked at PetPlanet for 6 months and just recently quit because they were treating the animals terribly. They cut all the employee's hours and left almost 200 dogs to 3 people. You can probably imagine the gong show that was. I remember one Saturday the dogs went out for 10 minutes in my whole 8 hour shift. If you take a tour and they say that they take the dogs out 5 or 6 times - its about 5 minutes each (not even enough time to go to the bathroom). Imagine how depressed your dog would be if he/she got to go out 25 minutes a day! Now imagine if that dog is in the kennel for 2 weeks or even a month. I saw some pretty depressed dogs in that place.
The whole operation is falling apart, the dishwasher for the dog bowls never worked, some of the kennels flooded due to the back up from the drain system (management refused to think this was a problem.) The "security doors" rarely worked - they barely even closed. One burst of wind and that door would fly open, sometimes hitting the dogs in the process. Management also refused to fix that. We often over booked pets, this meaning some dogs were kept in small grooming kennels until a dog went home.
I could list many other reasons why that place is a wreck but i'll cut it short. Please don't take your pets there. They may be happy when you pick them up but its probably because they're happy to get out of there
