Doesn't excuse police officer's from assaulting civilians (although he was acquited) or lying under oath, multiple times.
Most of the guys on bikes around NYC are fine, generally food delivery guys who don't really go too fast due to their 5'2" stature. I'm not outside much during business hours, but even in the heart of midtown I rarely see issues with bike couriers. That said there are certainly a lot of cyclists here, my most hated variety being the guys who think they're in the tour de france every weekend. I'd love to jam a stick into some spokes, but I know better than to do so. You'd think a cop would have that basic knowledge as well.
