The situation of the roma is really problematic.
For example, as a cab driver I've learned from experience to always be careful when a gypsy steps on board. Of course, most of the time they pay like everybody else, but I can't help remembering the times I've had trouble with them, and it's so disproportionate to their numbers that it just gets to me. Also, I hate that they always want to haggle. Finns don't haggle. It's just not really okay here, and they should know better. I can say pretty much the same with black people actually (who are basicly all first generation immigrants/refugees in Finland).
(Of course, the most times I've had trouble is with the Finnish speaking whiteys like me. Although they rarely start trouble over the money, it's more about being drunken a-holes.)
It really pains me to notice the racist in me, especially since I think I was pretty broadminded before I became a taxi driver, but now I just can't help that I every time I pick up a gypsy or someone from Africa (they're pretty easy to tell apart from say African-americans), I have to remind myself that not judging people beforehand is a principle I hold dear, even if I have to struggle with it.
But I can't help noticing that I've _never_ had trouble with any Asian customers (be they from middle-east to far east), except for language barriers.
