Holy buttpains, am I relieved! I have these EXACT same symptoms, started around my 24th, am 29 now. It shifts from one butt/leg to the other, I don't recall ever feeling it in both at the same time, although it usually is in my left leg. I tend to walk fast, which helps the pain, but lying down/sitting gives excruciating pains, turning in bed was a nightmare.
I've never been to the doctor with it, as it usually goes away after a few days, sometimes it hits me harder than others, my longest consecutive series was for like 2 months, in which I traveled from Holland to California, where the pain resided. I assumed the moist in the Dutch weather was the killer for me.
I am very happy to now know what it is exactly that I have (I always suspected it to be the nerve, but fears of it being bone friction aka needing surgery never left) and that with 'simple' measures I can take care of it!
Awesome, and to think I haven't visited the off topic forum in a LONG time till today.
