This is awesome. I would love to get a huge map to hang on my wall so I can mark out where I've been in the world. Any suggestions?

There are a couple of map places downtown. One is on center street and 5th ave, and the other one is on 4th ave and ~3rd street. You can spend as much as you want at either place. A world map will run you about $40 laminated. If you want it mounted on wood or plastic, it'll be more like $100+. But yeah, maps. They're the ultimate wall art. Heckuva lot more useful than a painting of a chair.

We have a few of those wood shelves that you screw through the wall into the studs. We got ours from Pottery Barn in Chinook I think. Once those are up you still have to find things to put on the shelf but it really adds to the decor and is something different than just hanging a print on your wall.

I have three posters (Decemberists, Flight of the Conchords, and Built to Spill) from the Small Stakes with two of my guitars in between (Takamine acoustic and Danelectro U2). It's pretty nice.

If you don't really care about art too much, but just want some cheep framed prints that look decent, I'd start at Winners. They have a lot of framed prints or canvas prints stretched onto frames, and prices seem to be from about $40 - $100 for large ones.

Wheat Field with Crows...the original...
A blanket I stole from a Mexican's burro while visiting Tijuana and a print showing a stretch along highway 101 through Torrey Pines State Reserve that I drive each day to and from work.
I have always liked putting meaningful things on our walls especially things acquired during travels.
Radley
Edit: I really like the map idea. My father-in-law has a framed map on his wall showing the region of Europe his family came from.

I thought Ikea frames were weird metric sizes?
I've been criticized for my bare walls before, so now I have a couple abstract things my brother did for me and I've been meaning to put up photos.
Haven't found a good frame collection that comes in all the sizes I want (particularly 3:2 and 4:3 ratio so I don't have to crop width) though so I haven't done it yet.
