Those are two completely different things. You can't compare apples and oranges.

To me Ultimate Fighter is about the untrained trying to become a professional. Once they are fighting in the UFC they are considered a professional fighter. Not a silly boy who does play ground antics. Just like Lesnar does when he fights. It tells me he has no respect for the sport.

AP is reporting a bacterial infection in his intestinal tract and that he will leave a Bismarck hospital soon. Still may require further treatment, and could still be serious, but it doesn't sound quite as perilous as it did before.

I hope he fights again, I want to see that phallic tattoo pummeled. Seriously, what a great prank that tattoo artist pulled, 'a sword, ya I can do a sword (and I'll slip an obvious dong in their too).'

I do wish well for the guy as nobody deserves to suffer, but Dana White exaggerates things to no end. Sure he has an infection, with proper care will probably be taken care of in time, but to the degree of hoopla that White created with his comments about him being gravely ill, I personally, smell a rat.

I don't think White is hyping this up as part of a marketing gimick (the way Don King would).

Lesnar stands to make more money for the UFC than do pretty much the rest of the atheletes on their contract list (a few exceptions). He is, without a doubt, their biggest draw and most marketable talent. That comes with being a heavyweight to begin with. It comes from being a freak of nature. It comes from having microphone skills from pro wrestling.

As much as you may dislike Lesnar and dislike White, I think White is panicking, not promoting.

They aren't untrained in the Ultimate Fighter. They're just looking to make the jump to the big time. But what about the coaches? When Quinton Jackson fills Rashad Evans' car with chickens is that not as bad as whatever Lesnar said that has you so outraged?

I really don't understand all the Lesnar hate. He had an adrenaline dump at the end of the fight. I don't see what he did any as being worse for the image of MMA than BJ Penn licking Joe Stevensons blood off his gloves after they fought...

I don't think what Lesnar did was all that bad, although his insulting sponsors move was way out of line for a professional athlete, but if you can't see the difference between his post fight antics and some made for TV pranks on TUF I'm not sure what to tell you.

A lot of people just hate Lesnar because he came from WWE and that isn't real. The guy is a freak of nature and I love watching him fight. I really hope he gets better and I really hope he fights Carwin. I was PUMPED for that fight.

Carwin wrote an open letter to some of the fans wishing ill in Lesnar.

http://www.fightersonlymagazine.co.u...le.php?id=3437

Quote:
“I am sure most of you know I am not the leader of the Lesnar Fan Club,” contender Shane Carwin wrote on The Underground MMA forum today. “That being said, antics or not, he is OUR UFC HWT Champion. He beat a future Hall of Famer to keep that belt and he NEEDS our prayers and good thoughts right now.”

Carwin was writing in response to more than one post suggesting Lesnar’s illness was fake, or some sort of marketing ploy. He argued strongly that Lesnar should not be stripped of his title, no matter how long he is going to be out for.

“At the end of the day I can take off my UFC shirt and say here is a man, a Champion that has been brought down by an illness not another man. It is very humbling if you think about it. Brock has a wife, kid, and friends that depend on him to make their lives better. You do not have to support Brock and his antics but you should have respect for the human side of what is happening here.

“This is not a ploy to sell more tickets, he is the biggest draw this sport has ever had. This is not him ducking me or any other fighter. This is about a man who is fighting an illness for his career, family and friends. Talk of stripping a man of his title due to illness will set this sport back farther then anything Brock has ever said. We need our Champions healthy and defending. I know the show will go on but to be a Champion you must beat a Champion.
