Anyone who can win the Masters in a playoff, can never ever be called gutless.

Once and he beat who?
He's choked away many many tournaments.

I like his Canadianess but man is he a frustrating golfer to watch.

Ya only the best golfers ever win the majors. Some guys can have hot weekends and some luck. He has choked away more tournaments than he has won, thats for sure.

I have nothing against Mike Weir the person he seems like a nice enough guy, but Mike Weir the golfer that we are Canadians are supposed to cheer for soley because he is Canadian and mediocre gets tiresome. Hearing how great it is that finished 67th in another tournament while there is actually decent players in the tournament gets annoying as well.

I'll accept that. That is the way I feel towards the Toronto Blue Jays as an example. Just cause they're the only Canadian team, doesn't mean I have to cheer for them. So I digress. I just don't really understand why he can be "hated", that's all.

And it's not like Mike Weir is my favorite golfer, far from it actually. I never really have a ton of confidence in the guy to get it done. But his performance at that Masters, regardless of who he beat and that is was his only time, proves that he can perform in the clutch at a major.

I didn't really have any interest in the Presidents cup this weekend. Watched some of the team matches on Friday/Saturday, but their isn't a lot to get interested in. The Americans are/were so much better than the Internationals and there doesn't seem to be the same sense of pride/urgency by the Internationals, as there is for the Europeans in the Ryder cup.

Watching Weir/Clark vs Woods/Stricker was interesting, but other than that it was an empty event for me. Good thing hockey season is starting up.

Well Weir did beat Tiger head-to-head in the last Presidents Cup at Montreal.

And in the 2003 Masters, Tiger came into Sunday 2 strokes behind Weir (who was himself 2 strokes back of Jeff Maggert). So Weir beat the field AND Tiger (who was going for his 3rd in a row), Vijay, Phil and Jim Furyk, all who were within a few strokes of Weir on Sunday at Augusta. A few "decent players" there.

Weir won The Tour Championship in 2001. Yeah Tiger was in that tournament as well.

So Weir has beet Tiger both on Sunday, in a Majors and head to head.

He is arguably the best golfer every to come out of Canada; to try to minimize his accomplishments is petty and ignorant.
