What the hell is Penny doing in the show, drives me nuts. Anyways I gave it a chance but I felt the acting was terrible, if not acting then the writing, came off cheesy. Makes me cherish Lost that much more, real quality.

How freaking busy is Seth McFarlane?
3 animated hows on Fox, and now he is an FBI guy in this show?

Will definitely try to give it a shot later this week...without spoilers how did people think Dominic Monaghan was on the show? So good to see my favorite Lost character back on TV (and hopefully for a few episodes of Lost)

He was one of the FBI guys early on in the episode.

Goyer says MacFarlane will have a recurring role. We asked how the animator best known for his voice work ended up on the show.
"Seth called me up. He said 'I f****** love this script,' " Goyer said. MacFarlane asked if there was a part for him on the show, so they cast him as an FBI agent who will likely recur in future episodes. Goyer said Alex Kingston ("ER") and others also ended up on the show because they reached out to him.

He wasn't actually in the pilot...looks as though he'll be making an appearance soon, though.
EDIT: Woo, 1000th post!

Finally got around to watching this. It bears basically no resemblance to the book (aside from the general idea of the "flashforward"), but since books and TV are pretty different media that doesn't bother me. I found the pilot to feel a bit "choppy" and rushed in places - maybe it needed to be a bit longer. It's one of those shows where the 1st episode serves primarily to set up the general scenario; I think I'll need to watch 2 or 3 more to really get an idea of what the show will be like.

It was ok and has potential. Some super cheesy moments. Slow motion running? John Cho and Joseph Fiennes seemed to be reading their lines.

Looks like a graveyard for old Lost characters. I don't know if I can start watching any other JJ Abrahams show after Lost, I found the cliff hangers and dialogue infuriating at times.
'Why is X like this, Sawyer!?!' 'There's no time to explain, Jack! TRUST ME!' 'RUN!'
The writers strike a couple years ago was a blessing, forcing them to cut alot of the bloating and useless storylines that allowed for the 22-24 episode seasons.
Lost is an amazing show, but it wil be the last network type show I will get into for awhile.

Lost isn't produced by JJ Abrams, though. That's Fringe, for what it's worth.

Your quotes sound like they're all from the 3rd season, though. Other than that, it's been fantastic. That 3rd season though was just.. Ugh. Definitely my least favorite.
I think, contrary to what the marketers believe, comparing Flashforward to LOST is its biggest flaw. The show ISN'T LOST, and it's not fair to continually compare them (as a lot of people do, since it's been marketed as a sort of life after LOST show).

Man, these cliffhangers are killing me! Cool to see that the blackouts happened before, but on a smaller scale. I think there will be more than enough material to fill the season until "d-day" as they're calling it. Also thought it was interesting that Bedford got played by the Nazi; that doesn't seem to happen a lot on TV nowadays (the good guys losing, that is).

If you watched tonight's episode, there is a quick Calgary reference on the screen.
