The scene in Pet Semetary where the guy that gets hit by the transport truck jumps up on the operating table.

Man, that freaked me out for weeks as a kid.

Editing, pacing, lighting, soundtrack, production design... This scene from Suspiria gets me every time.

Do they think we're too stupid to get into a suspenseful film if we're reading subtitles? I honestly think that's part of it. The other part is that there isn't a single good original idea left in Hollywood, so they have to steal from everyone else.
Agreed!! 100%

I've watch dozens of foreign horror movies and to be honest, a lot of these movies are incredibly original and very scary. I think Hollywood indeed has run out of ideas.

Here's another great foreign movie. El Orphanato (The Orphanage). This scene was truly frightening. Creepy children scare me.

I kinda liked quarantine. Maybe not scariest ever, but I enjoyed it. The ending freaked me out, but the trailers ruined it a little.

I've always really liked Stir of Echoes. It has Kevin bacon in it ... and he has a Boston accent.... but if you can look past that it's a quality flick IMO.
