This thread really puts into perspective how disgustingly lame music is these days...
you sound like a really open minded person..
what was the last cd that you bought that wasn't 48 years old.?.. you aren't one of those ' led zep forever' guys are you? i could recommend a TON of great bands depending on what genre you prefer..
as ALWAYS, there is fecal music everywhere but living in the 'glory' days seems a bit obstinate.. i mean, you can only listen to Hells Bells so many times, right? if meatloaf is the apex of your listening career, well, that's just illegal.

No I don't live in the glory days, as I'm only 22 years old. I wasn't around for the glory days.
I'm just growing tired of the music that has become popular. It's brutal when I turn on my radio and here lyrics like "she got a ass that will swallow up a g-string".
Bone Machine by the Pixies and I saw them in Calgary on that reunion tour a few years ago. They opened the set with that song and it was a life highlight for me.
Kinda cheating, because I have seen both of these live, Rime of the Ancient Mariner in its 13 minutes of epicness is f'n unreal. Fear of the Dark is a very close second.
Advice to anyone who appreciates metal. If you EVER get a chance to see Maiden live, you will never forget it. Sell your car, your girlfriend, whatever you have to to get a ticket. There is no-one currently or previously that will even come close to the quality of metal they deliver.
Harris is on almost every bassists influence list.
Murray and Smith are probably the best twin assault solo duo of all time.
And Dickinson is just Dickinson. The air raid siren only gets better with age.
They are unreal live, and even better now than in the 80's.
4:00 - 8:08 is the truly epic part, lucky they didn't burn down the arena...lol.
Sends chills up my spine seeing EVERYONE in Wembley clapping and waving their arms in perfect sync. Really though, I would love to have been able to see any Queen song live. Freddie Mercury is just amazing.

wow - good version of that song! Magnificent Seven was never one of my favourite Clash songs, but it does lend itself to a live version. Kind of the opposite of Guns of Brixton, which is a wicked song but not so great live.

Yeah I agree, I saw them the last time they came here. The Trooper was amazing as well, hell, all the songs they played were epic.
Seeing all 4 Beatles would be equally awesome. One of the greatest songs ever written up there. Seeing Freddie Mercury doing absolutely ANYTHING live would be an experience as well. That was a voice.
