And Trout, if you're looking for someone to hit some tennis balls with, I'd be game.
Sure, good idea. I'll start a CP tennis club - PM me if you want to join folks.

Tennis is for pansies...the woman are more manly than the men.

I've got a pretty nice Prince racquet, but haven't played in a couple of years and would love to get out again. I played on clay courts in the Bahamas and it was awesome and I see the Calgary tennis club has some, cool.

A racquet dampener came with my racquet - this research seems to say it does not do anything:

http://www.newscentre.bham.ac.uk/pre...1_tennis.shtml

A tennis racket accessory designed to prevent 'tennis elbow' does not work and serves no scientific purpose, University of Birmingham research reveals.

Current top ten players Rafael Nadal and Andy Roddick both attach anti-vibration string dampers to their rackets - a plastic device invented to reduce racket frame vibration to the forearm in order to avoid injuries. But during a season when tennis equipment sales are particularly buoyant, Birmingham's study shows all dampers really do is alter the sound of the racket and provide players with a 'lucky' charm.

From personal experience I have felt less vibration transferred through the racquet with a dampener. Whether it prevents tennis elbow or not is debatable I'm sure however I can see it helping reduce or extend the time it takes before you do get tennis elbow, if you get it. They do "deaden" the racquet.
