I guess that's what being bought by Activision does for you. "How can we gouge customers for as much money as possible?"

If each one of those single campaigns is as epic as the three campaigns in the original Starcraft combined, I have no problem with it.
The quip about fighting zombie terrans at night and then stalking them to their lairs is just too awesome.

One thing I love about Blizzard is they do things right. To many gaming companies rush their games in an already under staffed project and the result is always less than what you expected.
Blizzard takes their time, works it out, and we get a great game in the end. Their launch of WOW game wise was unreal, the most polished MMO I had yet to play coming out of beta.. because they took their time and did things right. Every game has glitches, but WOW was without a doubt the best launch I had seen to date.. and now you look at the MMO's that have crashed and burned due to rushed releases and bad launches and are even more thankful for the patience.
Yes I understand that Starcraft is not a MMO, but it will largely be played online.. so I am sure that is the main reason for the patience. Trying to cut down on the zerging most likely.

Not sure if everyone is aware, but you can watch 3 battle reports (1 vs 1 game with play by play commentary) to get an early glimpse of the new units and strategies in Star Craft 2

I actually love it. They are doing it to make the single player aspect of the game huge, complex, and vary greatly between the three races.
In the original SC, the campaigns were ~10 missions each for a total of 30 missions between the three races.
In SC2 we will end up with the total single player component being 90 missions as each race will have a 30 mission campaign.
Also, all races will be playable online and in all other game modes other than campaign when the first game launches so all around I think it is great.

I would venture a guess that it will work on anything made in the last 2 years or so.

Aye. Except I'm poor and looking to buy a used machine. I'm looking at a 2006 G5 Mac, so it's borderline.

I feel like such a nerd watching those with the play by play guys. Mostly because it completely held my attention.

Those new banelings (suicide zergs) seem very interesting. Especially since they can burrow, it opens up a lot of ambush capabilities when playing the Zerg

Yes, I'm sure that by delaying it to 2010 nobody is going to buy it.

Will we wait? Yes, of course.
Do any of us have to like it? No.
Especially if it's for economic, not development reasons which is ludicrous considering there are some people that will forgo food for this game.

gomtv.net has English commentators for all the SC1 tournaments that are going on.
If you are a SC fan - check out their micro...it's insanely stupid!

I'll watch a Boxer video every now and then but it's too hard for me to follow SC gameplay much less play myself. I have zero macro skills. I will be getting this game for the custom maps like WC3 had.

If it came to that it would too. I was just venting frustration earlier.
I will be that guy at the front of the line of some EB games store.
Heck, I would even go to Edmonton if it meant getting it sooner.
