It's a mix of several things. For starters, it gives us hope that one day we may rage against the machine and turn our tyrant company's web site into a flaming mass of "the gay". Secondly, it brings up fond memories of trying to beat Contra on the NES using a cheat code. Thirdly, whenever comic sans is involved in something there is a tendency for things to get a little awesome.
Still working for me on some pages by the way.
