I went titanium and highly recommend it. They can actually resize them nowadays, just not too many times (only once or twice I believe). Very light and it didn't upset the skin on my finger (my hand reacts to gold for some reason).

I went to a little jewelery shop in North Hill Mall on 16th ave. nw ... it sure didn't look that nice, but the mens rings they had were very cool and very inexpensive. Mine was $170 and among the best I saw when looking.

All the local shops are a rip.

I find Bluenile prices pretty expensive. Do you have any jewlery mart type places up there? You get much more competitive prices at those places because the individual jewelers rent space instead of paying overhead costs for an entire store. I've always assumed those types of places are shady, but a year ago I started going to a jeweler that was recommended to me by someone who has bought and sold jewelry there for 15 years. He's honest and has great deals. I'll never shop at a regular, especially chain, jewelry store again.

NOT TRUE. Tungsten is brittle, you can snap the ring with a pair of pliers. Trust me, I found out the hard way.

There are absolutely no rings that would require your finger to be removed to get the ring off. Not only did I snap my tungsten ring off when I broke my finger, I've asked ER doctors, nurses, and paramedics, and they've all said the same thing- they've never NOT been able to remove a ring.

I have no idea where this rumor started, but I suspect it has something to do with tungsten and titanium being cheaper than gold (in some cases) and platinum...and the companies not appreciating the extra competition.

One thing to consider with Tungsten is that it cannot be sized, period. If something changes, you're stuck with it.

The "incident" with the Diamond Exchange- the owner was home-invaded, they tied up his son and buddies in the basement, took the owner to his store, made him open it and robbed it. Left him tied up at the store. They said the store would be closed until "further notice".
