My girlfriend got 101 without trying. She's been tested before at an agency and clocked at 120-125 with perfect accuracy. I feel slow with my 60 WPM with errors =(

108wpm with 1 mistake. I forgot the last period!
This is a badly designed test because a lot of it depends on how fast you are at switching from keyboard to mouse to click the finished button.
And I type in a wierd style too. I hated the home keys crap they taught us in school. I've been doing it with two fingers my whole life. I never use my ring finger or pinky unless I am hitting shift of backspace.

Yeah I think it was just me because I was older when we got our first computer back in the day. So my dad got all excited and his friend had some typing program that he installed and said you should practice. So I did and it helped..but just like you, that data entry job really helped..in fact, we had to take a typing test to get in!

67 for me. It's all relative too, i fixed my mistakes as i went along, mistakes don't seem to penalize you time wise on this thing. I typed one word, got 133 wpm and said i had one error, when in fact i typed nothing. Flawed test, but still fun.

53.
I don't know how indicative of actual WPM speed because that is a horrible example. I've never typed that many semicolons in a paragraph in my life. Same with the capitalization. That and most of the typing I do is out of my own brain not copying, so I can go a lot faster.
Who am I kidding I'm just felling shame for my paltry 53.

there is a pretty wide range of sample texts. I can do pretty decent on many of them, but there are some with tons of punctuation.
here's one example:
Quote:
'Once, upon, a, time, there, was, a, woman, called, Rice, Pudding, and, -', 'One, moment,', said, the, Chief, of, the, Secret, Police:, 'Rice, Pudding?', 'Yes., And, one, day, she, was, sitting, at, her, window, -', 'Rice, Pudding?', said, the, Chief, of, Police, warningly., 'It, was, a, long, time, ago,', said, the, storyteller, defensively., 'Very, well., Proceed.', 'And, suddenly, she, saw,, down, in, the, street, below,, a, dervish, looking, very, important, and, wearing, round, his, neck, a, huge, necklace, made, of, the, spouts, off, clay, water, jars, strung, together, like, beads., "What, do, you, have, for, sale?", she, called, down, to, him., "Names,", he, said., "How, much, does, a, name, cost?", "A, hundred, piastres.", Now, -'
|
tons of punctuation in that one, yet look at another example:
Quote:
In, the, second, century, of, the, Christian, Aera,, the, empire, of, Rome, comprehended, the, fairest, part, of, the, earth,, and, the, most, civilized, portion, of, mankind., The, frontiers, of, that, extensive, monarchy, were, guarded, by, ancient, renown, and, disciplined, valor., The, gentle, but, powerful, influence, of, laws, and, manners, had, gradually, cemented, the, union, of, the, provinces., Their, peaceful, inhabitants, enjoyed, and, abused, the, advantages, of, wealth, and, luxury., The, image, of, a, free, constitution, was, preserved, with, decent, reverence:, the, Roman, senate, appeared, to, possess, the, sovereign, authority,, and, devolved, on, the, emperors, all, the, executive, powers, of, government.
|
so much easier!

101wpm with 3 mistakes.
94wpm with 0 mistakes the second time... I slowed down a bit to avoid mistakes.
I don't like this particular test because the wording is horrible. Far too many run-on sentences.

Your speed was: 30wpm.
You made 4 mistakes, your mistakes are shown in bold text:
But I know 95% of the keyboard shortcuts in Photoshop. Is there a test for that?

Yes, and you get a paycheque every time you pass.

168 with thirteen mistakes my first try. Of course, what I typed had no resemblance to the paragraph shown.
