Marijuana to soften economic blow (again)?

What most pro legalization people don't realize is that it is unlikely that the government wouldn't simply let any company grow marijuana. Either they'll do it themselves or it'll be highly regulated.

Since it'll be highly regulated and there'll be a monopoly for the sellers, the quality will suck and the price will go up.

It may be good news for those of us that want to grow ourselves, but even then growing weed is a pain in the ass, not like mushrooms which is pretty easy.

All in all legalization would be bad for 90% of pot smokers out there. It works better as a small(ish) underground economy.

Aside from the potential of having your grow-op busted, how would anyone be able to tell the difference between "tailor made" weed and homegrown?

If the monopoly you speak of came to pass then homegrown is what people would buy and things would be the same as they are now. Whats the cop who busts you going to do, take a hoot of each to see which one kicks too much ass?

I thought the idea was to reduce spending on persecuting it more than anything, so I don't see how them having to bust you, process you, and then wait for a THC test to see if your going to jail or not is helping that.

One day I hope I can buy Pot seeds at Home Depot. Maybe a Cannabis greenhouse kit too.

Sorry, not sure if I wasn't clear or you just misinterpreted my post but I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

All I'm saying is if the government is in control of it, it'll suck. I want good weed, not crappy weed, and with the government in control it'll be expensive and of lower quality.

Actually all this talk of weed makes me want to go get high.
