Thank you.
He probably wont though. He does get carried away sometimes (often). He will admit it himself.
I was not there (have not had in two years) but he's a great guy who does get over excited sometimes.
Our usher knew us, and Ken King promoed us when no one else would go. Now with all the suits, it's not the same.
Not excusing him, as far as rowdies go, you wanted us, but no one is perfect.

We already sent a letter to Ken King. I'm sure nothing will result from it but since we've been season ticket holders since 1998 we felt it was necessary to raise the issue.

Good job man, at least someones having fun at the games. I hope you get a response from Mr. King. Don't let anyone on here throw their holier than though attitude at you saying you should be responsible and you can have fun without drinking. If you drink, have fun and don't harrass anyone i see no problems at all. Crowds are boring enough as it is. Keep us up to date on any response you get.

Just don't bang on the glass. I hate that.

And, who leans on the glass?
I also don't find it too hard to believe that clubs and the league don't want people scaling the 6+ feet of glass to retrieve a puck. Besides liability issues for all involved, common sense should also dictate avoiding these things.

Those idiots that are on their cell phone and stand up and wave every time the camera passes by them should be ejected from the game imo.

We don't swear, we didn't start any fights, we didn't try and throw anything onto the ice. If anything we were more quiet than usual, I'd say.
The security supervisor just said that there were numerous complaints and would not give any details. We asked how we could correct our behaviour and he gave us nothing. There was no warning from security or the usher which makes it even more disappointing.
Were we drinking beer? Of course we were! Were we loud? Yes! We always are! But it's a hockey game! Like I said if we were swearing or something I could completely understand but we weren't. Hopefully Ken King can shed some light on the situation. Times have changed since we first had seasons tickets and the Flames would be thankful of our support offering us extra tickets or upgraded seats on occaision.
We'll try and keep you folks updated.

"thankful of our support offering us extra tickets or upgraded seats on occaision."
First off I am not picking a fight, it just reads that "what have they done for me"....maybe this is not what you meant...but that is how i read it.

I think you misread it. I read it as a nostalgic view of times when season ticket holders were much fewer. I didn't get a sense of entitlement out of it.

I think he was saying they WOULD (not that he is expecting it) give him extra tickets, etc. back in the day when the Flames couldn't even get people to come to the games for free.

I read it to suggest that the Flames have done extra for them, not that he's expecting re-payment. Obviously someone in the area didn't like what was going on, and had you kicked out. I wasn't there, so I can't call it justified.
I don't like that they didn't give you any notice on how to handle yourself any different. Could have been a one off, but obviously you did something wrong in someone's eyes, and got punted for it.
You're more than within your rights to question why, and what you could do moving forward.

Hey I agree, I was at the game and I was yelling and shouting and drinking......I was even yelling at a guy in the same section ("scarf", he made me laugh). I was just seeking clarification.
I agree he should get clarification on cause......

Agreed, all we asked for was a reason or some insight as to how we could behave differently next time... and we were given nothing. Just a strange situation... the usher didn't mention anything, we were never given a warning... Ken King said he'd look into it though, that's the best we can hope for.

I am very interested to hear Mr King's response.
On a side note, now I am a parent, my language and awareness of young ears at the games has changed. I think I would have punched me if I had known my then.

I've only been a season ticket holder since the late 90's but went to the occasional game in the late eighties early ninties. Is it just me or are we going through a similar cycle after the late 80's? I don't know if its just nostalgia but I seem to remember it being pretty rowdy in the late eighties and then slowy over time in the ninties it became the library. The run in 04 obviously brought back some of the roar in the crowd but it seems to be cycling back slowly. I think its a combination of people growing up and the ticket prices increasing.
I don't know why but this story reminded me of a timne my friends went to a game around '98 and sat in the lower bowl. They had an usher approach them and told them they shouldn't cheer so loud because they are disturbing the other fans around them. I was so embarrassed as a flame fan back then when I heard that.

Guys in my section heckle anyone who tries to leave early. If you start heading to the exist with 5 minutes left in the game, they pull out their keys, jingle them at arms length and yell, "BEAT.....THE TRAFFIC!" in an attempt to embarrass the people.
I find it funny, I'm not sure how many other people in the section do. Although there are a bunch of single game sales, so there are always people for them to harangue.

Fairly often I am sitting in the library that is 219 and I am always jealous of the noise coming from you guys and your section.
I use to be an usher and I am surprised you got ejected. If someone complained about cheering and you weren't swearing or being obnoxiously drunk then I would say that their complaint doesn't have a case. And usually a warning is the first step.
People are allowed to cheer. If cheering bothers you, stay home and watch the game on TV. Cheering is part of the atmosphere of live sport.
