That was a great finish! Definitely a match I enjoyed watching...I thought Nadal might not pull that one off....

I was hoping for the upset. I always love a match where the underdog overachieves and comes within a whisker of knocking off the heavy favourite.

The best tennis match by far was the the quarter finals of the 1991 US Open. Jimmy Connors who is 39 and near the end of his career is down 2 sets to none and down 5-2 in the third set. He does this incredible comeback to win the match. The noise from the fans who were obvioulsy behind Connors was - lets just say it gave me goose bumps.

This is the best video i could find regarding the match. Listen to the crowd - unreal!

That was a great one...especially Connors going off on the ref. It gave him a lot of fire and I think propelled him to win that match. I was pretty young when that match took place, but I remember it so vividly.

I hope Fish does well against Nadal.

He seemed to feed off the crowds noise and gained strength from it. Had to be devistating to his opponent (can't remember) to see the crowd rally behind Connors. Very firey and emotional player.

hahahah very nice find.

I don't like the replay system in tennis. No more arguments and players going nuts!

Here's my personal favorite:

A foot fault followed by a bogus out call for a double fault.
From my favorite crazy man Goran Ivanisevic

UPSET ALERT:

Robredo takes the first set from Djokovic 6-4.

EDIT: Djokovic breaks to take a 2-0 lead in the 2nd. We're in for a another long one.

EDIT: Djokovic breaks again and takes 2nd set 6-2.

BLAH: so much for the upset.. Novak taking control now.

^ It's a great match. Tied at 2 sets all with Djokovic looking a bit winded and slightly injured going into the fifth.

It shows how good Djokovic is when he can take the lead in the 5th set with a bum hip.

It now looks like Federer might be going into a 5th set with Andreev.

It's been some crazy tennis today!

Wow, what a match.

Thank goodness Federer pulled that one out.

No wonder he's so tired lately, all these crazy long matches.

I've never seen Roddick play this well.

His serve is untouchable and he's actually moving on defense. I've got high hopes for him in the quarters and on.

Minus Ivanovic....it's interesting to see how there have been no real upsets so far. It's hard to say if the Blake loss to Fish was an upset, as Blake seems to really be struggling. The quarters are going to be great on both sides.

Fish put on a first good set but then Nadal was too much to handle.

That much went well into the night as a result of some earlier long games.

Good on Fish for taking a set from Nadal. The crowd was loving it.

And the Williams sisters put on a show, with a lot of skreeching to boot. I didn't think it would be a 7-6, 7-6 finish.

I turned off the steriod sisters match as screech was a tad annoying. Never could understand why some women (yes men too) need to grunt and groan everytime they hit the ball
