One thing to know if you plan on skiing or riding with your shades:
I got the following info from a guy and girl who work at spare parts. Apparently polarized lenses are not recommended for skiing. Although they reduce glare, the tradeoff is less perception of detail (eg snow texture) on the ski hill. "So why do they make polarized goggles?" I asked. Well they are meant only for the half pipe, where everything is smooth.
I buy only polarized lenses now, but will not use my shades on the ski hill (they're too expensive to risk anyways).
