That night was brutal. To be clear, I'm talking about the show about 3 years ago, not the one last year.
The security was a collection of the biggest A-holes I've ever encountered. I still don't know why I was kicked out. I was in the beer garden side and a guy just walked up to me, grabbed my arm and escorted me out. Dick.
Worst part about that night was that I SOMEHOW managed to lose my ticket while we were (freezing balls) in line. Luckily I could buy one at the door, but I paid twice for a show that I only got to see half of.

As for thanking people but couldn't, on the road there's many stories similar to those already shared. Walking 1/2 way across the city drunk and getting picked up by some random person. People who have stopped when my car was broken down offerring to help. And a snow plow operator who pulled me out of a ditch once after I had lost control of my car.

I agree it's somewhat heresay(Heard from friends, who admittedly are lowly recruits and have worked for them for less than a year). But keep in mind that you knew it was a police car because it was the same car that pulled you over so you got to fight it under those grounds. This plan is to have a non-identifyable car (Ie rusty Datsun/Sunfire/Honda) driven by someone who doesn't actually pull you over and give you a ticket. There will be marked police cars hidden along the highway that will clock you and pull you over as per usual. From your perspective the guy in front of you was just a lucky B*&tard who avoided the police, when in reality it's one of them. You'd have no clue, and the judge/justice of the peace won't have any knowledge of that applying to your specific case.

oh boy - it'd be hard to tell ya for sure. the 12 or so drinks before the walk really makes you lose track of time and then when you get home you never think to check the clock - its just straight to bed.
for some reason i wanna say it took about 4 or 5 hours from downtown to mckenzie. back alley to the university didn't take that long (or didn't seem to - which is why i question my memory) 2 1/2 or 3 hours maybe? i do remember stopping at one of those late night pizza by the slice places during that one.
but its really anyone's guess, i'm not a reliable witness in this case.
edit: anticipating the next question of "why": missed the last train, no cash left and i refuse to cab and dash - i'm not a thief.

Okay, I'm an idiot. What exactly happened? You and the cop were both doing 190? You were doing 190 three klicks behind the cop, and slowed down before you got to her? You were both doing a hundred and ninety, you both slow down, and then you pass her under the limit?

Yes Berger, I think you got it. It was dusk so the second I saw her brake light kick on, I slowed right down. Then when I saw her pull over I went below the limit; and a minute later I passed her. She pulled back out and pulled me over and wrote a ticket.

In St.Albert we have some 50 zones that are absolutely rediculous...should be 60 zones...but they're not, and I admit I've been caught napping and got tickets for going 63. 4 lane divided roads with lights for all the left turns and nice wide side walks on both sides of the road and houses well back....yet photo radar hides behind trees to make the streets safe there.....Never once seen Photoradar in a school zone or playground zone though....who cares if people are driving 55 through those...get the guy going 62 on a street where no one would ever be in danger....I digress it's not a cash grab at all.
Anyways theres a new road that connects to the Henday and there is nothing on it yet and the limit is 50. I was going down the road one day and the person in front of me was driving the limit....I was in no rush so I just followed. Low and behold theres an electrical transformer and Photo Radar is hiding behind it. Yes no one would ever get injured on this road....but they better police that area in the name of safety instead of a playground zone or residential street. So that woman in the Honda Civic probably saved me a Photo radar ticket that day. I thahk her for driving the speed limit in front of me.

Manitoba... I just drove through there with a friend from TO to Calgary back in September.
As we hit the edge of town (Winnipeg), we jumped on the ring road, which turns to 70kph, somewhat abruptly. So my friend was going 100, but when we saw the sudden 70 sign, she hammers the brakes. Guess what, a friggin RCMP sitting there, waiting for that exact scenario. Writes us a $250 ticket and we're on our way.
So my friend figures she's done enough driving and we do a switcheroo. It's dusk, turning to night and I'm about 40 clicks outside Winnipeg.
The road is straight and flat, double divided with at least 100 feet between sides, zero traffic. I'm going 125kph (yeah, yeah, send 'ol 4x4 to hell). Suddenly behind me a pair of headlights pop out of nowhere.
I slow down to 100, but the guy got me. Pulled me over, I also got a $250 ticket. Damn. My first speeding ticket in ~5 years.

ahh the st. albert photo natzis. Man I living and driving around there in the summer. It takes for freakin ever to get from one side of the city to another even though it's tiny. Me and my buddies used to go around putting up sign before the photo rader to let other people know that it was there but were informed by a cop it was obstruction of justice.
Also I remember hearing a story about some kids at Paul Kane High School stealing the plate off the radar van, putting it on their own car, and going past the van a number of times. If it's true those people should be given some sort of medal or something

Yeah, I remember that happening. Although how they managed to steal the plate off of that van without the lackey sitting in there noticing, I have no idea.

oh it'd be really easy. most of the time the vans have old guys in them and their either sleeping or reading a book. wouldn't be hard to sneak up behind them without them noticing and remove the plate

But generally speaking, the vehicles are parked in moderate to high traffic areas. You'd have to have balls the size of church bells to rip a plate of a police vehicle in broad daylight with cars zooming by.

Yes geenerally speaking the vehicles are parked in high trafic areas but in st. albert the vans park off the road and are camouflaged by trees so i highly doubt anyone could see you.

Question, One time I ran out of gas on the highway. The gas station was only 2 miles behind me, so I started to run to the gas station(was late for a function). This young couple picks me up. I grab a jerry can and some gas and they drive me back to my car. I offer them 20 bucks, they wouldn't take it. I thanked them. As I'm getting out to my car the girl says," Jesus loves you". I just say thank you and nod appreciatively.
The whole thing suddenly felt cheapened somewhat. It was like their duty rather than an act of kindness. Maybe I'm overanalyzing the whole thing. But I didn't get that whole need for the Jesus blast.Any takers??

Yeah, the way they hide them in St.Albert, you could pretty much sneak up and dismantle the vans and no one would see you. Oh well it's not near as bad as Sylvan Lake where the bylaw enforcement officers were way over the top. That guy wrote new laws on the spot to bust anyone he could. The town was all 40km an hour and they'd nail you for going 44.

That’s an easy one. They’re one step down from the Christians or so-called “religious” people who will preach at a complete stranger for nothing. They are right in the fact that as a Christian your life should be an example to others, not any preaching you do to them. So they felt that picking you up was something that would make a bigger impression on you than anything they said.
Of course then they realized (naturally) that non-Christians can be nice people and do good deeds too, so they added the “Jesus loves you” to tell you what made them to what they did. But they didn’t ask you about your spiritual life or tell you anything that you should be doing (ie preaching) so I don’t think what they did should really piss you off.
That being said, as a Christian I would do the same thing (I hope) but I haven’t and probably wouldn’t add the comment in there at the end unless someone asked (ie “why are you doing this for me?”)

Ugh I got hit in a stupid place like that in Calgary one time too...
Going to the wifes mothers house (lives by the McMahon Stadium), coming in off highway 2, turn down 14th street (i think) its 4 lanes and coming off the highway it goes from 80 to 50 realyl quick. I didnt see the speed changes and there is a cop sitting up ahead with a speed trap.
Ticket for doing 80 in a 50.
Ugh pissed me off, IMO that should be an 80 zone or at least a 60.
I mean cmon my license is from Saskatchewan, we cant even figure out how to do daylight savings time, let alone understand why that is all of a sudden a 50 zone. Sheesh.
And I like paying for the person behind me coffee in Tims too. I have had it done to me a time or two so I like to repay the favor.

What some people don't know is that what those guys did is actually illegal in Alberta. The law is considered stunting - "Performing or engaging in any stunt or other activity that is likely to distract, startle or interfere with users of the highway." The fine is over $400 and 3 demerit points. Here is an article on the topic: http://cgi.bowesonline.com/pedro.php...ory&xid=377684
I've had it happen to me where it did save me, upon arriving in Alberta I was driving through Southern Alberta and a guy did it for me and have done it for others, but you have to be very careful.
