Stupid %$#^@ing Disable the Bombs in the Water level!!!!!!!!!
I'm surprised I never broke a controller playing that game that obviously spawned from the deep depths of hell...
One game I would love to see on Virtual Console, or even resurrected is the EA Sports Mutant League Football.... LOVED that game back in the day, thought it was fun, and hilarious! Loved the "Bomb Fumble" lol
Nintendo better get Square onside so they can release Chrono Trigger... still one of the best games EVER.
And Super Metroid is also one of the best EVER. I'd play that game over a LOT of current-gen games.
TMNT Arcade is available on Xbox Live - and it's the real arcade version... much better than the Nintendo one.

Going slightly off topic.
If you open up the internet channel (I'm assuming you've bought it) and go to g o o g l e, then search for Wiicade. There are a bunch of free internet games that you can play with the Wiimote. It's like a free expansion of the Virtual Console. Pretty cool. That is only one site, but there are more around as well.

Bomberman '93 for the Turbo Grafx 16 is clutch for multiplayer, especially if you have a gamecube controller as you can play five players with it (plus four classic controllers, I forget if Wii remotes work).
I've always loved Shining Force 1 and 2(not out yet) for the Genesis as well as Legend of Zelda: link to the past and Earthbound(not out yet) for the SNES.
Here's a question: which of the SNES Street Fighter games on the VC should I get?

That (and the Battletoad games) were seriously one of the hardest games I've ever played on the NES. The furthest I've ever gotten on that was inside the Technodrome, but by then I'm always down to either one or two turtles left. Years later I finally passed it with the Game Genie. But yah, that was not a very fun game. In fact, this review sums it up pretty nicely for me. (Warning, NSFW)

Have you done Secret of Mana?
Chrono Trigger?
Both absolutely fantastic games.

Yeah I bought CT for DS. The game is just as fantastic as I remember!
Other Wii Ware games I would highly recommend besides Dr. Mario are Tetris Party and World of Goo. Especially World of Goo. Addictive, creative and tons of fun!

Link to the past was released to the GBA. A year and a bit later it was on the Virtual Console. It can happen.

One of my all-time favorite games. Still play it now.
I think they sell a copy of it for the SNES at Video game trader for like $300.
Fantastic game.

A year and a bit?
More like four years and a bit...
Link to the Past on GBA had long been discontinued and run it's course before it was released on Virtual Console. Chrono Trigger JUST came out.
