When did this happen?!?
Burned chips = extra tastiness That's why I like Hickory sticks -- very underrated IMO...

For the ~2 bags per year that I buy, they're always jalapeno cheddar or ripple.

Seconded. Those are the best chips I've had in a while. I wish they'd brign them here to Canada.

Old Dutch makes the best potato chips in the world! I loved all the flavours as a kid, particular BBQ, Dill Pickle, and Salt 'n' Vinegar (which used to make my lips turn white for some strange reason).
Nowadays, Dutch Crunch Jalapeno and Cheddar is the best, although Mesquite BBQ is also great.
Sadly, other Commonwealth countries lack the ability to make good chips. They like to make meat flavoured chips like Roasted Chicken and Mint Lamb. Simba chips in South Africa is alright, about as good as I have found overseas.

I can't believe someone else mentioned Simba chips. I bought these from a South African supply store here in Calgary.
They were AWFUL.

LOL, well look at the flavour you bought! If you went for something a little more subdued like Salt 'n' Vinegar or Cheese and Onion things would have turned out better. Rule of thumb: never buy meat-flavoured chips.

You'd think with that packaging and name the chips would taste like mildly spiced lion, not plain ol' chicken.

Man, funny this thread popped up, as I was lamenting the fact that I cant seem to find Ruffles Salt'N Vinegar chips anywhere, anymore. I remember having them a few years back, and absolutely loving the taste. Now I cant seem to find them anywhere, wonder if they've been discontinued or something. Now I normally just get the Old Dutch or Miss Vickies version, but damn, I want those Ruffles.

Old Dutch BBQ or Ketchup are my faves. Even Lays is copying OD with it's "Old Fashioned BBQ" Ripple Chips. Ketchup was my favorite food come out of my yearly 3 day flu as a kid.

Sometimes they distribute them but usually they're not available in Canada - much like Habanero flavoured Doritos. I love both products and eat them at an unhealthy rate when I'm in the States. Flaming Hot Cheetos with Lime are great, too. I've only ever seen those in Minnesota.
I also loved Old Dutch Mexican Chili. When I was a kid those were the only chips I'd buy. I'm curious if they taste as good as I remember since it's been years since I bought them.
And regarding O'Ryan's Sour Cream & Onion (and Sour Cream & Bacon), that company was bought by Frito-Lay so it's up to them whether they ever bring it back - or even repackage them as thick cut Ruffles or something like that.
My favourite right now is simply Old Dutch BBQ. I also loved Lay's Hot BBQ. That type of Barbecue flavour must be a Canadian thing since you can't get anything tasting close to that in the States.

My god! This is going to be quite an event. I'm at 7-11 that day (if I were still in Winnipeg, you better believe I'd go to the corner store on Bannerman I used to go to)
