Fried pig intestines... I guess Asian people eat them... according to my g/f, it is the "drunk" food they eat over there.

Worst thing I drank? At the bar one night I was hammered, walked up to the bartender and said "I want something hard!" he asked me what and I said "I don't care, just get me a hard shot!" So he took that rubber thing they pour drinks on and emptied it into a shot glass and gave it to me, on the house. I downed the shot. I was so drunk at the time I really can't remember what it tasted like, but at the time it didn't taste so bad... now when I think about it, it's just gross.

Edit: one more thing - at a NYE party one time, buddy and I downed a 40 of tequila. I still wanted to drink so smart me decided to drink a white Russian. 15 mins later, I could FEEL the milk curdling in my stomach, and I was in the bathroom for the rest of the night. Gross.

If you ever want to one up that, try ordering an "Irish Car Bomb." It's a drop shot into a cup of Guinness; I forget what the liquor is but it's one of the creamy ones and it curdles about 5 seconds after hitting the Guinness. So if you drink it fast enough it's nasty and it explodes in your mouth.

It's baileys in a glass of guiness and you drop in your favorite Irish whiskey (at least that's how I've had them), horrible, horrible concotion.

However, Guiness on it's own is a beautiful gift from God.

I got half way through eating a box of stonewheat crackers before I realized they were covered in the shedded skin from what I beleive are called "cereal bugs" or "cabinet beetles"?

It took almost an hour of finger jabbing into the throat to get rid of what I'd eaten.

Haven't been able to eat any sort of cracker since (~7 years).

This thing in Guyana I ate called perpot. IT was essentially cow face stewed in a very spicey medium of some kind. The only problem was teh cow face still had wiskers etc. The taste wasnt really the issue, but he chewiness and fatiness of the skin. So unlike most disgusting foods you cuoldnt just swallow quickly you had to have it in your mouth for some time.

Also ate stewed Laba (a kind of giant rodent) there. Once again the locals did not bother to skin or defu the meat. Basically put the whole animal on a cutting board chopped it up and threw the whole thing in. You would be eating a piece of meat, turn it over and find knarly fur on the other side. The pieces w/ skin were extra chewy.

"The Felix"

Molson Porter warmed (not hot - it must still be able to be guzzled)
Milk
Tequila (only a shot)
raw egg

Yeah, it was a university initiation drink. The tequila does bad stuff to the milk, the raw egg you is a very unpleasant experience when you tip the glass to finish it off, and through it all the warm porter froths like crazy and it tough to keep down and under control.

I drink raw eggs for breakfast almost everyday. The churned milk and tequila would probably be another matter though...

Downed some Beep back in the day that was oddly thick. Looked down and saw green floating in amongst the orange.

Orange drinks have never been the same since then.

Mustamakkara in Finland. It's a black blood sauasge, absolutely grossest thing I've ever been forced to eat. My Finnish friends assured me that I'd love it and then after I had told me what it was! Bleepards.

Yup. Did that at a bar one night with a buddy's beer bottle. The chew/beer/spit mixture quickly ended up spewed all over the floor of the establishment.

Also, competing in the City Chase event they hold in various cities across Canada every summer, I had to eat a plate of wet canned dog food. I've got an active gag reflex as it is, and this just sent me over the top. To make matters worse, this station was set up in the middle of Chinook Centre mall. So hundreds of people are watching me gag, choke, and spew water all over the place for the 10 minutes it took me to choke this slop down. I haven't had too many moments finer than that.....

In Germany they sell tubs of what can only be described as bacon fat with onion bits. It's called Schmaltz. They spread it on bread for breakfast.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schmaltz

Schmaltz or schmalz is renderedpig, chicken, or goosefat used for frying or as a spread on bread in German cuisine. The brown fatty residue left in the pan after frying bacon is schmalz (although the melted fat that is usually referred to as schmalz has a whitish color).

A quick tip:

NEVER ask an Icelander this question. I know there are 2 or 3 others on this board who probably have the same experiences, but here's my list of Icelandic delicacies that I have eaten. Fish tongue has been mentioned, but it's really not bad. Here are a few more:

1. Blood sausage. (looks gross, but doesn't taste all that bad)
2. A similar thing to Haggis that we call "liver sausage" (it's not bad, actually)
3. Singed sheep head (also better than it sounds)
4. Pickled Herring (pretty good, esp. on rye bread)
5. Last but not least: Putrefied Shark (never eat this if you're in Iceland. It's like chunks of rotted chicken floating in urine--I'm not joking)

The shark smells like urine because of the ammonia that sharks produce--it's truly awful, and the smell gets into your skin, your clothes, etc. It's truly terrible. Even Icelanders don't really like it--they have to drink Brennivin, which is the local rotgut Schnapps, to make it go down without vomiting.

The others are OK--but Shark? That just shouldn't be food.

I love Irish Car Bombs ... so tasty!

As for worst - bee larvae. In China had some local magistrates treat me and my business partners to a local dinner. Some of it was amazing, but the bee larvae (and maybe some vegetables) did nothing for me ... and I was hung over like balls!
