I've seen a lot of Silva when he was with Pride. Back in those days, if he had knock Chuck down like he did last night, he would have been on him immediately and put Chuck away. For some reason, he didn't go after Chuck when he knocked him down. That's uncharacteristic for Silva. Good fight though - certainly worth watching.

As for GSP, wow, the guy looked awesome. I thought that Hughes was going to take this to the ground as soon as he could, because he didn't want to stand up with GSP like he tried to last time. I don't think he was expecting GSP to be that good on the ground. GSP is definitely the most all-round fighter in MMA today.

Did I hear correctly that GSP is going to the Olympics in wrestling?

They said in the PPV that GSP is considering trying out with the Canadian Olympic wrestling team. GSP trains with the team all the time and from what I hear is as good as or better than most of the olympians. Wouldn't that be cool!

I just finished watching the GSP/Hughes fight....All I can say is - wow - GSP completely dominated Hughes, and he was clearly the better man. Hughes looks to have lost a major step, he knew he was done for 30 seconds in.

GSP is probably the best all-around fighter in the UFC today, hands down. The guy is in incredible shape.

If anyone can, try and watch the Tyson Griffin - Clay Guida fight they had on TV last week. Holy moly, that was vicious!!

The way i heard it, he WAS training for the olympic trials but that he took this fight INSTEAD of doing that. So in turn, the reason he was ready for this fight was because he was ready for those olympic qualifying trials.

Agreed. The best Pound-For-Pound figher in MMA right now is George St. Pierre. He dominated Hughes from start to finish, it wasn't even close.

Fedor has always been the best PFP guy, but with what George is doing, and with Fedor taking on freak show fights against a Kickboxer, and then alternating the rules so Hong Man-Choi couldn't use knees... St. Pierre is the best in the world.
