I buy boardgames for the store and have never heard of this one. Who makes it? I'd like to see if we can stock it.
Edit: I found it! Looks like lots of fun! I can't wait to get my hands on it!
There's a new one out called What?. I've heard excellent things about it too.

Axis & Allies. And, the add-ons that are available.
It is a great deep (but not excessively so) WW2 strategy game.

Backgammon is one of my favourites.
Life is fun.
I like Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit, but nobody in the house will play them with me.
Risk is okay, too long most times for me.
I love Taboo in a group setting it's fun. So is Pictionary a lot of fun in a group.
Monopoly is not a good game for us. Somebody always ends up ticked off. Last time my kids played with their Dad, one of them ended up flipping the board in a huff.
When the kids were younger we loved Battleship, Guess Who, Mousetrap.

Since we're including non-board games, I nominate Krypto. No one has ever beaten me.

My favourite board game is Monopoly. But only when it is played with the actual rules. I am not a fan of most house rules to change the game. The one that I dislike the most is when landing on Free Parking gets you money. This puts too much money into the game, turning it into more of a game of luck. Without the extra money, you have to be more careful in how you spend it.
On the down side, most people don't like playing with me. When someone buys everything and lets luck do the rest, they usually get creamed.

It took a while for some real games to get mentioned. Although I'd have to say I'd far rather play the Cities & Knights expansion on Settlers than the original. But they're both very good.
Others I really enjoy:
Diplomacy
Dragon Delta
Through the Desert
Carcasonne
I've got about 60 other games I own that I could mention, but these plus Settlers and PR are most worth mentioning.

Settlers is my all time favorite, I could play that game for hours on end and not get sick of it.
For all the other Settlers fans out there, here is a link to the only really good online version of Settlers. It requires signing up, but it is free. Takes a bit to get used to the controls. The best part about it is that the initial setup is instant and the wait time for other players is also very short.

LOL I'll bet people don't like playing with you. Adding stuff to Monopoly is a universal tradition. Heck we used to take the money from other games and add it to the bank. Then we allowed loans, double hotels and all kinds of stuff. Threw all the fines/taxes etc. into the middle. For sure we still do the Free Parking one. We play it as a family so the cut throat approach just isn't in the cards.

It's nice to see another Diplomacy fan on here. IMO, this is the best game ever made. It's like playing Chess, except you have the chance to really influence your opponents' decisions. I guess the only drawback is that it takes so long to play, and it doesn't work too well with less than 7 players, but if you find enough guys dedicated enough to see the game through, it's just an amazing game.

These are what the real boardgame geeks like me are playing (top 50):
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/browser...ank&rank=33#33
Good gateway games are Settlers, Ticket to Ride, and Carcassonne.
Then move up to deeper games like Puerto Rico, El Grande, Power Grid etc.
The Sentry Box in Calgary is one of the best game stores in the world.
http://www.sentrybox.com/
With over 13,000 sq. ft. of display and gaming space, the Sentry Box is a Mecca for those interested in fantasy, science fiction, or military games, books and miniatures. The policy of the Sentry Box has always been "If it's in print, we'll try to stock it." With over 46,000 different items on the shelves, this shows that we mean what we say.
I also like Revolutions on 14St NW:

"Mission Fun & Games" in St. Albert is an awesome place to find board games if you're up that way. It has way more selection for actual board games then the Sentry Box, although SB blows MF&G away for anything else.
Have you ever been to the Sentry Box for a game day? I keep meaning to show up for a Diplomacy game, but never do.
Based on your ratings, it looks like I may need to buy some expansions for Carcassonne. They really add a lot to the game??
