I think the NE -4.5 point line is very generous for the Colts. I expect the Pats to really differentiate themselves in this one.

The game between the Pats and Colts is on CBS. The Browns and Seahawks are on Fox according to Starchoice. As for the game itself, as long as Randy Moss buys into the word "We" instead of "Me" the Pats will win.

The thing that makes me pick the Pats is that theyve beaten this Indy team before, in the RCA dome. The Colts havent gotten better since last year and havent added any substantial play makers in the offseason. The Pats, obviously, have.

I think it'll be close until halftime and then the Pats run away with it. Manning will get flustered, throw a costly pick and the tide will turn in a hurry.

Besides, the Colts defense hasnt really been tested and they just survived last year against the Pats - that was without Stallworth, Welker, and Moss. Yikes.

The Colts haven't gotten better since last year? Geeze I seem to remember a defense that couldn't stop the run at all and was one of the worst in the league. Don't give me that excuse they haven't played anyone on defense, they couldn't stop ANYONE last year. They've already gone against much tougher offense's then the Pats have. There corners are much better, there linebackers are much better too. There defense has yet to be tested like it will be sunday, but up to now they've been a huge improvement over last year.

The colts have always been a team that gets better within. So many young players have made strides from last year, only 3 players from the Colts have played for any other organization. That means being patient with young talent, and watching it improve year by year. The Colts NEVER go after free agents and yet manage to be sucsessful year after year.

The Pats haven't won in the RCA Dome in almost 4 years now, there both much different teams now.

He's done a great job of buying into the Pats system all year, I see no reason why he'd blow up this week. He's been praised by everyone around him

Pats take it easily and remove doubt that they are the greatest team ever assembled.

That defense was present when they beat the Pats last year in the playoffs. They lost some key guys since then and the Pats have added a lot to their offense.

I dont like the Pats, or the Colts, Im just saying that the Colts stayed the same (or got worse) since last year and the Pats got much much stronger.

Lots of hype leading up to this one.

Dr. Z's positional comparisons:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...x.html?eref=T1

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...nse/index.html

Manning vs. Brady:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...ale/index.html

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/column...reg&id=3088115

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...ame/index.html

I don't think, though, that we've yet had a Game of the Century in the twenty-first century, so it's certainly good to finally have one . . . Anyway, that there could actually be a game that could arise all above this autumnal cacophony is amazing, but the Colts, the defending champions, and the Patriots, the once and future dynasty, are not only both undefeated, but clearly in a universe apart. Moreover, their two coaches are the yin and yang, the alpha and omega, the black and white

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3085707

Based on current data, AccuScore shows the Patriots with the edge, winning 62 percent of AccuScore simulations by an average score of 31-27. In the baseline simulation averages, Brady throws for a shade over 300 yards and three touchdowns while Manning comes in just under 300 yards and two touchdowns. However, if this game were played in New England, the Patriots would roll, winning 77 percent of game simulations and by an average margin of 10 points.

If you just look at players brought in and out then yes the Colts have not added any big name free agents. The Colts have such a young team that with more and more playing time, the better they get. Addai is miles ahead of where he was last year, the Colts starting corners on sunday are much better then the ones they threw out there against the Pats last year.

The Patriots have gotten a lot better, but I don't think it's fair to say just because the Colts didn't add anyone, they could only get worse or stay the same. The Colts have been one of the best teams in the NFL for years now, can you name so much as TWO free agent they've brought in the last 5 years?

Colts win. Better defense and home field advantage are the difference. No team will go undefeated in the NFL again. It's just not going to happen.

I think New England has been waaaaay over hyped. Yes, what they've done is incredible but I'm hearing heads say that we have never witnessed this kind of offense in the NFL before. HOGWASH.

The St. Louis Rams and Minnesota Vikings of recent years were easily this prolific IMO. Especially St. Louis. We don't KNOW the level these offenses could've produced at had their respective coaches decided to run up scores like the Pats are doing. To suggest that this is the greatest offense in NFL history, at this early stage, is a joke.

In 1998 the Denver Broncos were rolling everyone, scoring a ton, and were 13-0 heading to the Meadowlands to play a mediocre Giants team. They lost, and then lost again the following week in Miami. They went on to win the Super Bowl. 16-0 is NOT going t happen.

I'm not a Pats hater, but the incessant worship of them in the media is making me sick. If Belichick continues to run up scores someone is going to cheapshot Brady. BB had better be careful IMO.

16-0 could happen this year, because neither NE or IND can afford to take their foot off the gas. It may require at least 15 wins to win home field in the AFC.

We may also see an 0-16 team this year.

Brady's stats are just sick: 30 TD and 2 int. That must be unprecedented. The Pats are pissed at the NFL, and the Colts are pissed that NE is getting the attention. Either of these teams are capable of going undefeated.

This may be true - where is the evidence for comparison? I would think you would have to go back to pre-salary cap to find a comparable team, perhaps the 49ers.

Took some digging, but I found some info:

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcont...1bf6d35b3.html

The Patriots are on a pace to score an NFL-record 662 points this season. The 1998 Minnesota Vikings set the record with 556 points in 1998. The Vikings were favored by 10 or more points only six times that season – and never by more than 16 in any game.

The 2000 Rams were the highest-scoring team of this decade and the third-highest scoring team of all-time with 540 points.

Good find. We'll see how the Pats numbers compare at the end...and again...let's keep in mind that Dennis Green and Mike Martz weren't running up scores out of spite.

An older ESPN article rating the Top NFL offences all-time:
