So now a debate continues but about her teammates. Should they have to turn in their medals they won running relay with Marion?

IMO they should since 1/4th of the team was technically cheating, it sucks for the other 3 but oh well.

In your mind they're all guilty, so in effect you're saying they should take a way their medals. Especially when you say whatever when it comes to innocent until proven guilty. Ohhhh and as for the rest of your post -- whatever.

I'm with you Dion. I hear people say that everyone is on steroids. Yet a very small percentage of people get busted for it. While the people who are clearly on steroids but have not been busted (ex. Bonds) also make up a small percentage. I am unconvinced that there are scores of people using them and cheating in their respective sports. I am going to need to see more results and medals taken away before I believe the sports industry is packed full of cheats.

For a pretty informative sampling of elite athletes look at the finals for the 1988 100m. We all know our boy Ben Johnson got busted (conspiracy abound on that one). Most know Carl Lewis was guilt as the man who crushed him, but what about the rest of the field?

The results can either be shocking, illuminating, or expected. It depends on your perspective.

The other people it sucks for is all of those that came 4th in the races she was involved in. They get their medals now, but they missed out on a feeling of accomplishment and a hell of a party that they'll never get a second chance at.

Its likely that they'll turn in the medals as the results will now show a DQ.

Correct me if I'm wrong. In the 2002 games in Salt Lake city Canadian Beckie Scott got a bronze medal in a cross country skiing event. The Gold and Silver winners were eventually found to have been doping year(s) after the games and Beckie Scott got the gold 3 or 4 years later or something.
