If you're ever at Superstore, their PC Honey Red goes down nicely, and it's $5.69 (plus deposit and GST) per six.
PC Honey Red sounds great!

Plus it's cheaper than TNT

Black label Ice.

High alchol content, cheap, and doesn't taste to bad, especially if its cold. Drank it my entire first year of university. Lucky aint bad either.

I have to go with Lucky as well.
A thrifty friend of mine convinced me to have a TNT once, and I thought it tasted like topsoil and Colt 45 that had been sitting open for a week.

Except it's hardly a budget beer anymore. It's the same price as regular beer. Not really worth the price now IMO.

Pilsner? You mean Molson Old Style Pilsner? That stuff used to be cheap but it's like 19 bucks for a 12 pack now. But I still buy it regularily because I've drank it for so long.

Where are you getting Carlsberg from? And what's the usual price range?

I think they call it TNT because it turns your ass into a dynamite factory the second that vile brew passes over the lips. Me and some friends accidentally bought a flat of it one time in University, and it ended up being our punishment beer. We kept it at room temperature and anytime anyone did something punishable, they were sentenced to drinking a luke-warm TNT... it was a little over the edge, but we wouldn't have been able to get rid of it otherwise.

As an aside, I went to school with the owner of Mountain Crest Brewery. When I run into him again, I will let him know that there are fans of his beer on CalgaryPuck!

I have to agree with a few of the people on this thread and say that Brewhouse is my choice when it comes to 'shotgun' fare (i.e. the stuff you want to drink so fast that you don't want to taste it, and get LP'ed while doing it).

I bought some Olympia this weekend because it came with a free mug (it leaks though) and it was pretty good.

I guess I'm a beer snob, but my opinion of budget beers is that the only thing they're good for is being a liquid laxative. Kokanee is about as low budget as I can handle.

TNT is by far the very worst beer I have ever tasted. Lucky Lager on the other hand is a good cheap beer that doesn't taste too bad. But if you can find it, I would recommend buying Lucky in bottles, tastes much better than it does in cans.

Well that pretty much says it all doesnt it?

Pour your beer into our free (leaky) mug.....you'll be glad it leaks.

###.

I hated all beer for the longest time thanks to AGD and Molson.

Then I actually spent some money on decent beer. But then, I never drank to get drunk, so I'm probably missing the point of cheap beer
