I find that PC games are awesome for online play, and fantasy massive multi player online games, but consoles rule for single player adventure games, sports games, racing games, etc.
Reasons to buy an xbox 360:
An graphics equivalent computer would be 3 or 4 times the price.
You dont need any 3rd party cables to hook a 360 to your big TV.
Guitar Hero II and III.
Crackdown.
Grand Theft Auto 4.
NHL 07/08.
...
Feel free to add anything I didn't put in.

I haven't liked an EA hockey game since they were on the Genesis.
NHL FaceOff '97 and '98 on the PS1 were the best hockey games ever.

Yeah, a lot of the guys from the '95 site frequented at the '94 boards. Not sure what happened to them though, and www.nhl95.com doesn't work anymore. We also have a new guy who just did a www.nhl91.com site.

The 360's best games are shooters and PC ports. Any shooter controls 100 times better with a mouse/keyboard and having free online for the PC ports beats the hell out of of Live.
A graphics equivilant computer does not cost 3 or 4 times the 360. I upgraded mine last summer and cost me about 700-800 bucks (it's comparable to and IMO better than the 360) When you factor in the free online play (for shooters anyways) the 360 and it's $50/month price tag for Live the price of upgrading your computer and buying a 360 is very comparable.

If anyone knows how to open the game as a .bin file (which is what you save it as after unzipping) please PM me - I'm having troubles finding a program to actually play the game with.
Thanks

Here is a link to some emulators (on the left-hand side), don't know what game system your .bin file is for, Genesis or SNES?

$50 a month for live?? You have been misinformed it's $70 for the entire year. What i've been noticing about a bunch of PC menus are designed for consoles which annoys the hell out of me.

I love 2khockey, but the skill stick is the new way to go (I put it into 2khockey forums next year suggestions before EA thought of it, so I take FULL credit for it....just cuz) while the defense in 07 is dodgy, it's still SO much more fun than the 2k games. I hope they come through on the promise of improved defense (which was their promise IMMEDIATELY after releasing 07)

I have trouble playing these games for more than a rental. I guess I'm just too picky about how each team plays, just not realistic enough.

One thing they HAVE to change (and there are many) is the fact that players can only get injured when getting hipchecked at the opposing blueline. Sooo frustrating.
Also, when you pass it back to the point and the defenseman just watches the puck leave the zone. Brutal!

or you pass it back to the point and the defenders are offside

Live is not $50/month and it is like having Battle.net active for every game you buy. Which is a far cry from most PC games that use Spynet or whatever it's called.

Those old NHL games are great however it was too easy to score. Once you figure out the skate around the back of the net, then across the crease to the far post move you can win like 16-0.
07 is great, but he do have to fix the frequency of the dribble in goals and the ones where the puck goes straight up then off the goalies back into the net.

NHL07 was great, but I got bored of it fairly quickly because of the lack of off-ice capabilities. Eastside Hockey Manager completely ruined me, and now without a new version of that game ever coming out, I'm not sure what I'll do.

Huge fan of the EA NHL franchise, I play a minimum of 10 games a week on the XBOX 360. My only complaints are the D who let the puck slip by when you pass it back to the line like others have already mentioned. the new stick control is great, so much better than the old setup. Banging on a button to score now seems a bit stupid.
Can't wait until we get a demo.

You need to play some of the guys from the site and see if you're still winning 16-0!

Oh I'm sure they are good, my point is you score 10 out of 10 times if you skate across the crease. Anyway one of the best games ever made.
