Nope. Not crapping on it. If you like it then great. Just stated I didn't see this great "talent" that people were talking about.

If he is targeting others I guess it is working because I have heard way too much of this no talent hack than I would ever hope to.

You weren't crapping on it? So you just stopped by to do us fans a favour by letting us know we're 14 year-old girls who like garbage music? Anyways, anyone who gets invited by Clapton to play at the Crossroads festival must be doing something right.

Nope just was surprised that there was John Mayer fan club. Talked to Mayer about his talent and then you came in and got all grumpy that I didn't like him.
I said that 14 year old girls would like the link to his fan club and thats who his music would appeal to. Not that all fans were 14 year old girls. But I would say that if you like his music then yes in this respect you do like garbage music but not sure why you would feel the need to get upset about what I think of your choice in music. I certainly couldn't care less what you or others think about mine.

Whether you like him or not, that's clear talent.

Everyone and their dog has a fan club these days. I don't know a whole bunch of 14 year-old girls who listen to the blues but maybe your finger is more on the pulse there than mine.

Funny, but I don't see Mayer appealing to 14 year olds whatsoever. It's not that type of music. I'm not a huge fan admittedly but what I can admit is that the guy can play a mean guitar.

I can't really see it appealing to anyone, so 14 year old girl seemed like a group that liked crap and thus a solid choice for John Mayer's fanbase, if there is a better group to represent those that like his garbage then replace the references to 14 yr olds with that group.

I was dragged to a John Mayer concert a few years ago. I didn't know who he was. But just to settle the argument, by far the largest demographic there was 14 year old girls.
I have nothing against him, but the concert was un-memorable, and we didn't stay until the end.

Well, shiver me timbers. Who would have thunk it? Not me, that's for sure. My wife, who's quite a bit older than 14, enjoys his music so maybe he has more of a female fan base.
Hope you guys going to his concerts enjoy yourselves.

Good Lord, what is wrong with all of you people. I posted a date, plain and simple, a date and time when John Mayer will be performing and now it has turned into yet another crappin and bitchin thread.
Now, I am not going to the concert, I am not his biggest fan, but I did think that those who are might be interested to know that a concert is forthcoming.
Why cant all of you grow up and just plain accept the fact that what your musical ear enjoys is not what someone else's musical ear enjoys. And that does not make either of you right or either of you wrong. It merely makes you different in your choice of music. Cant you live with that and accept each other's taste? Like, is it hurting you if they go to the concert and enjoy it whereas it is something you would not even think of attending?
Just grow up!!!

I'm really surprised over the attitude towards him. He's matured a lot as an artist over the last 2 years. I dont think a lot of whats being said is very well informed. His latest album has a Hendrix cover on it...an insanely well done hendrix cover I might add.
Read a creditable review before you label him a no talent manufactured pop artist...
From Rolling Stone:
" Forget "Who did you think I was" - Mayer's detractors will likely be thinking, "Who do you think you are?" when they hear his (capable) cover of Hendrix's "Bold As Love." No matter. Mayer is right not to worry about pleasing or offending them."
You can sample the tracks here too.

Pretty much. I used to think he was just another pretty-boy popstar until I actually gave him a chance.

Exactly. The thread title didn't read "Your Opinion on John Mayer" and yet some people still found it worth their while to come in here and crap all over other posters.

Anyone know who is opening for him? Ben Folds is opening for him at some stops, and I would pay big money to see him!

Kathleen Edwards. I'd love to see Ben Folds live, hear he puts on a wicked show and is very interactive with the crowd.

Mayer was pretty good when he was on the Chappelle Show. However, I think I'll have to take any comments about John Mayer from anyone with the user name Mayer with a grain of salt.
