We can debate if it was marketed properly, but I'd also point out that the amount of press and love the show received from major publications such as Entertainment Weekly, definately exposed the show.

People knew about the show
People knew the show was acclaimed
People didn't watch the show

Don't blame Fox. Blame the people.

Why blame fox? They did the same thing with Family Guy that they did with Arrested Development. It never had a solid timeslot, no one knew when to watch, then they just stopped caring and it ended up in the death slot and it died out.

Yup and most networks would have cancelled AD after 5 episodes.

Fox did its audience a huge favor giving it as much time as it did.
