According to the interview, Owens denies the suicide attempt and said it was an allergic reaction from all the medication he has been taking. I believe him. Seriously I bet it was all from just 1 guy saying it was suicide.

Dallas Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens flatly denied Wednesday that he tried to commit suicide, explaining that he was groggy from taking a couple of painkillers.

“There was no suicide attempt,” Owens said during a packed news conference at the Cowboys’ Valley Ranch headquarters.

Owens' publicist, Kim Etheredge, said Wednesday morning that she called 911 because Owens appeared lethargic.

"The police asked him a lot of questions," she said, "but he could barely answer them."

But she denied the suicide report, contending that the painkillers prescribed after surgery to repair his broken hand combined with the supplements that are part of his training regimen caused his body to react poorly.

Say what you want about him as a player, but when a man's life is at risk I find it hard to poke fun at it. I hope this story we'll just go away now

I believe Owens. Sounds like there was some confusion, I think he's telling the truth though.

Mixing medicine & supplements is bad news.

When they heard the news, did anyone else picture the Grim Reaper saying, "Red rover red rover, I call T.O. over" like from the Power Stripe deodorant commercials?

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

I believe him too, and its sad that the media, even the sports media, jumps to conclusions before having all the facts.

Having said that, I am soooooo glad the Broncos did not sign him.

I think Owens would do well to drop Drew Rosenhaus and try to enjoy the last few years of his career.

All these suicide reports are vague at best. There are also no past traumatic/depressive events in Owens' life, so I dont' believe any of it. Just the media putting a spin on TO to make stories/headlines. Controversy always seems to follow this guy around, partly fault of his own, but partly because of the media.

Do hope he's perfectly ready to go against the Eagles next next week, and we can talk about football and how horribly he did on the field.

he wanted the media attention, well he certainly got it, didn't he? Maybe he'll tone down the "attention whore" persona after this little incident. But probably not.

I don't think you can blame the media on this one. Hell, if that smoking gun police report is accurate as to what Owens said, then it is definately not their fault.

I really don't know what to believe to be quite honest. Too many holes in the story for now.

According to the Dallas Morning News (via Jim Rome, as I dont have a direct link) - Owen's Fiance broke up with him on Monday, and he was not able to attend his 7 year old son's Bday.

Now that is something that doesn't exactly gel with the story (although it still could be a strange coincidence).

Primm said Owens underwent two traumatic events Monday involving his 7-year-old son and his fiancée, a woman he has dated for three years.

Owens' son, from a previous relationship, celebrated his birthday Monday, Primm said. Owens was distraught, he said, about not being able to be see the boy, who lives in California.

"He wanted to get together with the boy," Primm said. "But the boy could not come here, and Terrell could not go there."

Then hours later, a woman whom Primm described as Owens' fiancée broke off the relationship. Primm declined to give the woman's last name but said she and Owens had been dating for three years. She also lives in California.

Sounds like the guy really is going through a tough part in his life. He's kept his mouth shut all year and yet he's still bashed by the media and fans day after day. The guys defintley earned the reputation of being so egotistical, however even when he has done nothing wrong people countinue to pounce on him.
