In truth Rico, I think I like the Animatrix the best of all of them.
There are nine short stories (two of which are connected) that help explain the Matrix universe. The collage of styles is very artisitc, some are mystery like, some are very sci-fi, very cool.
The best two episodes IMO are 'The Second Renaissance' part 1 and 2. These go into detail about how the whole man vs. machine started in the first place.
Another cool episode is the one which shows how a glitch in the Matrix programming makes a ghost house in the Matrix world.
And of course, the Sqaure episode has the best computer animation you are going to find anywhere.
If the third episode had anywhere the storyline ANY of these short stories had, it would have been infinitely better.
