Still nothing down here in the south east, but the wind has picked up... I am sure something will come of it here.

Some of the hail was pretty large in the NW... I went outside and picked up a couple, haha

Here's a pic of a couple of the hailstones compared to a quarter

Same thing here in Springbank Hill. Big hail. A few stones were approaching golf ball size. Just looked at the radar and it appears another wave is moving in...

Interesting how these things move. For the past half hour it's been an all out downpour on the north side of the uni but not a single bit of hail.

Just encountered hail up to one cm coming out of Safeway at Westbrook Mall. Turned to rain by the time I got down to Wildwood Drive.

To the people in the south, appears one is coming your way as well.

I haven't seen a single hail stone in West Springs for both storms.

Wouldn't that depend on the size of the hose?

Storm just hit Copperfield. Not much rain but a lot of wind.

Looks like there are a few more waves lining up to hit us... at least two more.

Hail twice the size of golfballs just fell here in Heritage Pointe South of Calgary. Never seen anything like this.

I'm hearing mixed reactions about the hail. I heard from someone in Silver Springs its the size golf balls.. but here in Edgemont we got a couple tiny ones and thats it

I'm in Chaparral, not too far away and I could see the clouds a lot darker to the south. Here we got the odd hail stone, maybe nickle size.

It's odd, I was watching the storm and the dark clouds passed by without any hail. Then the lighter grey clouds just let loose.

It was extremely loud. The Yard is just a mess, plants are shredded...there are pieces of our roof all over the place. I went outside when the hail got a little smaller and collected about 4 of the bigger hailstones, which are now sitting in the freezer. I will try to get pictures up later.

I'm turning off the computer. In the last 2 minutes there have been 4 lightning strikes within 2200 feet of my house.

Well that was fun. Put on almost 200K on the truck. I started out heading north to Balzac (cue fotze) then moved west then south then east. Unfortunalty I missed all that really big hail. It seems like I was just behind each major event. I'll go through my pics and see if I got anything worth posting.

What exactly are you doing when you try to follow it? Do you just drive close to it to watch from afar or are you actually driving into the storm?

And a question: why would it matter if your computer is on during a lightning storm? If there is a surge it's going to get it whether it's on or off. I'm curious why people say to do this, it could be good advice for all I know.

Here are a few pictures of the hail I collected. Keep in mind, this is after they had a chance to melt for about 20 minutes outside, and shrink a bit after hours in a Sub-Zero freezer. In the pictures, its hard to tell the actual depth of the hail...this angle is the only one the hail would stay without rolling around. This thing was huge, about 6 cm in diamter after melting/freezing. Amazing.

Here is a picture compared to a regular sized golf ball,

A little closer,

Compared to a quater,
