Good Commercials are meant to entice consumers to buy their products. Bad Commercials should do the opposite. Is there a website that reports these things. I'm getting madder by the minute and tim hortons for their stupid commercial.

Every commercial mentioned p*sses me off and what makes me even more angry is that there are people who are getting paid big money to create these idiotic commercials.

It must be their astute, highly targeted advertising... obviously the vast majority of hockey fans are going to be drawn in by those hip-hop beats with nonsense phrases.

The Pepsi one with Gretzky in it this past WC was annoying.
The Tim Hortons one with the big baby that is backpacking across Europe meeting people because of his crappy Tim's mug is annoying as well.

I work in Radio, so I hear a lot of radio spots too. The ones I can't stand are the Burger King ones. Take your pock of the one where the dentist is pulling teeth or the doctor dislodges a jaw. Both are unappealing to listen to. I have boycotted BK since I heard those spots, not that I went there anyways.
As for on the telly, I would have to go with the "Mr. Wendys" commercials. Way to beat a dead horse Wendys. I will not be boycotting them tho as I am a sucker for a big bacon classic combo

We've decided that this commercial is actually about cocaine addiction (and the related eating disorders). There's that underlying awkwardness beneath the whole conversation, where they both know that they girl has a serious problem and is slowly killing herself, but the mother knows that giving her money is the only way to keep her from resorting to prostitution. It's actually a terribly sad commercial.

There is a commercial for Gilette (I think) where the guy is floating in zero gravity on a space station as Stereo MC's "Connected" plays in the background. So stupid. Shaving in space! Oh that makes me want to buy your stupid razor!

Is it just me, or is she trying to have a British accent, but she's still talking with a Canadian one? Plus it goes WAY overboard with the teapots getting all excited....and then the dog hiding under the table. Just a horrible commercial.
As long as Mr. Wendy is the unofficial spokesman, I'm officially boycotting Wendy's.

How about a feminine hygiene spray called Sprunt. - George Carlin
I can't believe no one mentioned that brutal Dairy Queen ad a while back with those to dipsh*ts making beatboxy annoying sounds. No recent commercial has that angering affect on me lately.
How about that Welch's grape juice ad with that little girl talking, something about her drives me nuts, like she's a children of the corn.
|
Oh yes. that stupid Dairy Queen commercial with the human beat box. I can't really boycott Dairy Queen since i never go there anyways. But yes that was a hella annoying.

The one where these guys get on their ATV's to "rescue" the guy in the other ATV.. When they get there, buddy gives 1 dog a ride back while the other p*sses on the dudes wheel???? I get the concept, sort of, but just brutal..
|
I hate that one, too.
I'm always asking myself "why would three people be looking for one guy on two atv's? What's the third guy doing? Is he keeping the driver company?"
Also, Border Collies are not tracking dogs - they are herding dogs. Just another detail that p*sses me off.

Tim Hortons and Wendy ones. The advertising team should be taken out, shot and buried quietly. Then they should hire my 9 year old cousin who will proceed to do a better job.

good point. That's the sort of thing that usually really p*sses me off in advertising, but I must admit that one escaped my attention. Now I'll get angry every time I see it.

Canadian Tire wins this title. Mr. Canadian Bob Villa himself seems to have unlimited time and resources to use stupid, cheap inventions *only* from Canadian Tire.
For crying out loud, did anyone see that plastic shelf thing you put in your garage? It looks like a plastic diaper rack that is held to the wall by two 1/2" screws! Terrible. And this guy on TV makes a point of it to show his friends while he's at it.
For the record, the Canadian Tire guy looks like he could round out the quartet for Saron, Lois and Bram.

Hardee's (Carl's Jr. in the East) ones are absolutely the worst. They have guys look like they can't even take care of themselves and cook breakfast. They "interview people" that say stuff like "I never thought Hardee's would have a good burger. I never went there for that."
I will not go to Hardee's (not that I would anyway) because of these commercials.
