Myron Thompson. Can't stand that guy. It'll never happen though.

Belinda Stronach and Ann McLellan obviously, but wouldn't it be nice to see Martin turfed in his own riding. At one point, polls showed that he could be in trouble.

Not that it would ever happen, but I'd also love to see Jack Layton turfed to wipe that smirk off his face. I can't stand him or his politics.

That racist dog Thomas Flanagan thats if he is even trying to b an MP which I dont think so considering he was born and raised in the USA. All I know is it really bothers me that this peice of **** is even still accociated with Haper and the Conservatives. This is a man who wants to completly assimilate Aboriginals into mainstream society and if he gets his wish with that you can bet the French and East coasters are next.

I dont like Flanagan but I am not afraid of him. There is no way he could do what he wants in todays society.

Stronach (and watch Peter MacKay bring in a motion to severely tax Magna International as the first order of business), Dryden (he can take over Quinn coaching the Leafs), McClellan (not a bad person, wrong party, though).

Depending on how things shakeout, you won't need to vote out Layton to not see his face anymore...he can twidle his thumbs in the House like so many past NDP leaders have over decades, if he once again has no power.

He's not a sitting MP, and he doesn't stand a chance tonight, but I think the Green Party is better served by removing Jim Harris as leader.

1. Stronach. Other than the results themselves, this will be the story of the election. Leaving your party to sit as an independent based on conscientious grounds takes courage. Leaving your party to join the government so you can get a cabinet post takes disdain for those who elected you in the first place and shows you to be unprincipled and opportunistic.

2. Anders. Moron. At least he was smart enough to lay low during the campaign.

3. Brison. I dislike opportunists who compromise their beliefs for power.

4. Martin. Even as a conservative, I had high hopes for him as PM and was glad he replaced Chretien, but its time to go down with the ship. At least he has a fleet of other ships waiting for him.

I read something last week that said these big-name types are probably hoping to lose because it's no fun being a plain old government flunkie. If they can't be part of the cabinet and and just become opposition hacks that nobody listens to then they'd rather get back to their real life of being rich and famous.

Stronach, Ken Dryden, Michael Ignatieff were all named as hoping-to-be-losers.

Brison was a self-proclaimed "red tory". He did the exact opposite of compromising his beliefs by joining the Liberals. The newly-formed CPC was too far to the right for him, so he joined a party that was closer to his views.

I agree 100% this guy has done nothign for his party during this election. I have seen more of the Communist party than I have of the Green party and imo that is placed squarly on the leaders shoulders.

I dont even think I have seen this so called great public speaker speak once on CPAC or anythign else. I ahve seen a few of his fellow Greeners out there but not the leader.

I live in Newmarket/Aurora and I already voted. I know it won't be popular on here, but I voted for Belinda, and this is certainly a case of voting for the person, not the Party. I voted for her last time as a Conservative. As you could imagine, our local paper is having a great time with this election as our riding is one of the most watched in the country, and I will admit, I am not really expecting her to win... I won't be surprised either way.
As for my reasoning for voting for her.... for me it comes down to "what are you doing / have you done for my riding". No one can question that the riding of Newmarket / Aurora gets attention now. Everyone always wants to know what Belinda has to say, or where she stands on an issue. Are we really going to be better served by Lois Brown? (I see the person above mentioned that Belinda is behind "the conservative lady"... case in point... a nobody). I saw in the Toronto Sun a chart that showed how a Harper gov't would look if they won, and who would hold the cabinet positions. No mention of Lois Brown. She would just become a nameless back-bencher. I'm sure lots of you see my decision as Belinda winning a popularity contest for my vote, and I will admit, it somewhat is, but thats the game you play in politics. If you don't like my decision, I am fine with that. You can label me another dumb easterner who won't learn and has his head buried in the sand... etc. Thats your opinion, and I can respect that. I live here and I feel I am making an informed decision for my riding. I am quite certain that if Belinda does win that she will be on the wrong side of the house anyhow, and will lose her power in Ottawa, but again, thats another decisions I will have to live with. But, no matter what happens tonight half of the country will be calling the other half stupid because they chose to vote for someone the other half didn't agree with... then we'll do it all in another 4 years or less.
All the best to everyone watching tonight. I think it will be interesting with the new 10:00 pm EST results.

edited to add a link to the era-Banner (local Paper) where you can read some new items on this, including a somewhat odd story about Belinda's Billionaire Father, Magna Founder Frank Stronach, getting kicked out of Wal-Mart

Anders.

Having this idiot in the party makes it virtually impossible for me to vote for them.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that once the Cons win a minority, and Anders' muzzle is removed, he'll say something absolutely ######ed and cost them the next election.

I second Myron Thompson.

Not sure why, just not a huge fan. He used to represent my riding when I lived in rural Alberta...

Myron Thompson is a blue Conservative with a capital C, but I always thought he was a pretty good guy, and an effective justice critic. He was my MP as well when I lived in Airdrie, and was the only candidate when I was in high school during the 97 election that made any effort to reach out to the students and get them interested in politics.

I think Anders might embarrass himself enough to be removed from the party, but not enough to bring the government down.

That's my hope, anyway.

Myron Thompson is the incumbant in my riding. He comes into my work fairly regularily. Although he can sometimes be gruff, alot of the older generation I work with show signs of this. Doesn't mean he doesn't care. I see an effort from him to be involved with my community and he's usually reachable.

I'm not saying there couldn't be valid reasons for not liking him though. That's why I asked. Curiosity.
